    Unhappy Factory Resetting 4.2 Softmod

Hello, it has been a long time since I have posted on this forum, but it is just that I haven't really had to do anything to my Wii in a long time. But now I am getting flak from family member's for "breaking" the Wii. It works just fine, and does everything I want it too. But my family doesn't like it being hacked. So, what I need help with is virginizing my Wii. I happen to have Darkcorp 1.1 installed on it, and seen everywhere online that, that is step 1 in resetting a Wii. So, in the uninstall portion of DarkCorp it says it will reset all Cios's, and remove all patches. So if that works out without bricking, can I just go into the Wii system settings, and click "restore to factory settings"? That is of course after removing the HB Channel too.

I hope to get some help with this soon, before someone updates it to 4.3 with Darkcorp still installed, and it bricks.

    Thank you,

    Steffono3

Formatting your Wii will NOT help! Don't do it. Follow the Remove Softmod From ANY Wii guide. Also, that thread will link you to a guide on removing DARKCORP. Do that first!

Well if the guide says it is better off hacked, then is there a way I get an updated shop channel? My siblings want Netflix on it, and we don't own any new Wii games, so I see no point in unhacking.

But, I have one more question. What would happen if I updated to 4.3. I heard 4.3 removes, and prevents Homebrew. So, would it patch everything just fine or would it brick? I only have DarkCorp 1.1, HBC, and HB Downloader. I am not a Hardcore Wii user, and I don't really like the Wii. I prefer my 3DS. But, I have to find a way to keep the siblings contempt. :P Thanks again!

Updating might brick, it might not. I wouldn't risk it. Install Priiloader and enable the update blokcing hacks to stop your Wii from being updated.

Thank you so much! You have helped me avoid a tough decision! I will be sure to update the shop, and convince my family a Hacked Wii is a happy Wii. Thanks again!

Edit: And one more question! I noticed other channels need updates too. Can I update them through the shop channel, or do I have to install their updated with Wii mod 3.0?
