    IOS check/ backup creation help

I am trying to backup my Wii games. I am using Homebrew apps and I'm running into problems with my external hard drive being recognized by either USB loader GX or SuperDump. I've used WBFS manager to format the drive, I didn't know at the time which USB port was USB0 but I swapped it back and forth without success (I know now). I also used the formatter in SuperDump without success. I am looking into wether I have the correct IOSs installed. I believe I did the Mauifrog guide to softmodding but it has been so long I can't remember. I ran my syscheck and I have the output if it would help. I've read that I need to make sure I have a proper cIOS249 but it isn't apparent to me. Is there a place that shows a syscheck of a properly softmodded wii?

Hey Hazardsneon. Just an observation, If you are new to this game. May I suggest using this guide
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...ide-fat32.html
Use Wii game manager and FAT32 setup. It is much easier to understand It will still handle ISO to wbfs Files, but your PC will be able to see what is on your drive.
Sys check looks ok to me Too.

Thanks for the help! I've actually tried two hard drives. One is a legitamate external HD, a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 640GB. The other is a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 80GB laptop HD and I used the USB to SATA from the external HD to be able to use it. I will be using the 80GB HD but I don't have an external case for it yet. I will update my cIOS.

Have you turned off the sleep mode, Seagate, Has 15mins default settings. In most of their drives. You can download seagate manager from their website, (free)
Why are you using WBFS format. (not neccesary any more)
All opinions are mine, You have your own choice of course, The easiest route is not always the BEST.

I am attempting to update the cIOS to v7 but I'm getting a little lost. I'm in Custom IOS installer but I'm not sure what slots to update, what bases or revisions to use. I reformatted the drive but Windows didn't allow me to format it FAT32. It only allowed me to do NTFS or exFAT so I did NTFS.

    Edit:
I found the installation guide. Does this look correct?
I still can't get Superdump to initialize the USB.

    Spoiler

    Edit:
I tried to format my 80GB HD to FAT32 with the command line. It errored out saying that the volume is too big. I partitioned it to two 32GB FAT32 partitions. I can't figure out how to get the Wiiware channel so for now I formatted one of the partitons to WBFS with the manager but when I went to USB Loader it didn't find a partition.
