dvd playback

my just updated wii on 4.2 u will not play dvd video copied or new the wii is a 2006 model

How are u trying to play them, is still related to your GC back up thread?

i gave up on the gc thing cuz i keep getting error on the game id and it wont load now i am trying to play dvds

i do have wiimc and get a unsupported disk error no matter what kind of disk i load

Then I would suggest that even though u say your wii is from 2006 that the dvd drive does not support dvd playback

1) It has either been changed
2) Is on the way out

it would also explain why u cannot get GC backups to play

You are still able to play movies back via sd card or usb device in lots of different formats

i dont think its been changed as i bought it new in an unopened box and it loads original wii games with no problem. i updated my system, with the mod any wii tutorial and it put new channels on my wii home
like dvd-r loader and neo gamma the new one

Just because it says 2006 on the bottom of the wii, doesn't mean it's 2006 model.
