Disc Read error help (Super Smash Bros Brawl)

I use Neogamma R9 beta 53 to play discs and I run into a problem when playing Super Smash Bros. I can load the game up just fine using default settings, but after about 1 minute of the main menu the game pops up a disc read error message. If I try to start a match the read error happens even faster. I was just wondering if this was a settings problem or is it because my disc is messed up? I used to play this game just fine in Neogamma R8 Beta 7, but it only plays in black and white which is terrible. I was happy that I was able to start the game in color, but the disc read error makes it, well, unplayable.

    Any help? Thanks.

That game is a dual layer game. Therefore putting a lot of strain on the drive.
If you've been playing backup disc's for a while now, it's only a matter of
time til your drive will go Kaput.
The disc read error is the first sign of wear.

You could try cleaning the lens but as above it is only a matter of time.

Its burned on a single layer DVD R with the ripped version. It used to play fine in black and white with an old version of neogamma.

90% of the rest of my games work fine for long periods at a time. Are you sure the drive is dieing...?

I have my sources and that is a little off topic, sorry, do I need to reburn the game on a dual layer with the full version? This game used to work perfectly with no color. Maybe someone can chime in on settings and cios/ios usage.

This how to burn and the cios needed - Set the layer break at 2084960 when burning. Now just use the D2x Rev 21 cIOS, as well as cIOS222/223 v4/v5.1. If the game is in black and white then u need to force video mode to pal or ntsc in the loader options

Alright thank you. You will have to deal with a straight up newb here. I installed the right CIOS in the WAD format with the multi-purpose homebrew app. How do I go on to use them? I tried choosing them with the IOS changer, but I just see like rev numbers or stubs. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to use them this way or not. Hopefully you can help. I had a hacked Wii (as a gift) for a long time, but I never really got into hacking it myself.

Edit: Just looked at your signature. Thanks! If you can give me any other tips, go on ahead

    *Thanked*

Fixing the CIOS did not help with the smash bros problem. Now it read errors even faster than before. It errors right after loading the initial load of the game. You think if I reburn the game it would work?
