Recommended Format & USB Loaders ( Please help)

Hey all - I stepped away from Wii MOdding for a while a recently came back- I just yesterday succesfully Soft-modded my 1st black wii and got it to Run Games off the HD. After following Malfrogs Guide i noticed that he likes to use CFG loader and External HDs in FAT32 format. I never really delt with USB loading games before as every wii i softmodded was a white one that i would use DVDs & Neogamma with. So i would liuke to ask you guys for some suggestions before i went out and actually got myself a wii for x-mas this year.

1.) What format is best for your HDs to be formatted to? (Fat32 <--- semms to be most common, NTFS, or WBFS ) I Hears WBFS is outdated, this true ?

2.) After following Malfrogs guide all HDs ive done so far i formatted to FAT32 ... BUT When you you use Wii Backup Manager to put them on the drive WHAT FORMAT DO YOU GUYS PUT THEM ON YOUR FAT32 DRIVE? Iso - Cso- or WBFS format? I have changed ISO into WBFS format and put them on a FAT32 drive and they seem to work fine. I only ask because it seems converting them into WBFS format saves you the most HD Space.

3.) What USB Loaders do you guys use/recommend the most? Malfrougs Setup gives you CFG as your primary loader. ive seen people say they like wiiflow or USB GX . Which ones do you use ?

Thanks for any of your help guys.- Again i have successfully softmodded the Wiis im just looking for Recommendations as far as HARD DRIVE FORMAT, ISO - CSO - or WBFS onto the HD ?, & What loaders you all use

Thanks again for any replies -

    1. I use fat32. NTFS is fine but you will still need a fat32 partition if you want to eliminated the need for an sd card. WBFS is outdated.
    2. wbfs files.
    3. The loader debate is wide open. I like GX. Many like wiiflow and cfg. The choice is yours, they are all good.

Thank you! i found out that when i was trying to put MW3 on my FAT32 drive with Wii Backup manager it never worked because the game is over 4GB and it wont put it on a FAT32 drive if its over 4GB so i think i am going to try NTFS

Good to know and thanks for your help =)

Wii backup manager will split it correctly, just check the settings. That is what I use. If you rip the original VIA the loader it will properly split it too.

It splits the games that are larger than 4GB so you can continue using a FAT32 Drive ? hmm i never saw this setting in Wii BAckup Manager ><
