Us -=HELP=- Formatting WD My Passport WDBABM00100BBK-00

So here's the deal... I HAVE one of these drives formatted to a WBFS partition and it works fine on both systems. I'm trying to create a backup of this drive, but can NOT get the second drive to work!!!

I have followed the mauifrog guide to use WBFS Manager 3.0 to format to WBFS and it does with no errors. Files transfer and display fine within multiple file managers but will not be recognized in WiiFlow (latest mauifrog walkthrough on softmodding) on either system.

From there I also tried the [Guide FAT32] by POB, and have successfully copied files into the WBFS file folder which display again.

Same issue... neither system will display or play the games. it just hangs at the load screen.

What am I missing? In the FAT32 case I used EASEUS Partition Manager which confirmed the parition was primary and active.

In the WBFS case I formatted using the FAT32_GUI Formatter and confirmed primary and active before formatting with WBFS Manager. I've also tried formatting through Wii Backup Manager.

This is REALLY pissing me off. Here's the only thing I can think of. I have NOT done the 12 hour full format to FAT32, only the quick format, but I never did it with the other drive either.

I'm running wiiflow from the orchid channel forwarder which I can't imaging is influencing anything.

I also disabled the VCD spindown software prior to both though many posts say it doesn't matter. Also sure I'm plugged in on the bottom USB slot, have tried varying WHEN I plug it in... tried swapping cords with the other drive. Same drive always works, other one doesn't. So I think all the dumb trouble shooting is done. Anyone else find a formatter that could get me past this?

    Thanks!!!

Where is your apps folder? On the drive or on a sd card?

Both Wii's are set up the same... that's the frustrating part. Can't figure out how to mirror my first drive that works in both machines to do the same. Something I'm missing? Would love the education. THX!

Try putting the new drive in the wii that you want to use it with, then delete the db file located in the wiiflow/cache/lists folder of that wii's sd card, and try loading wiiflow again.

I have my drive setup with the fat32 guide you mentioned. I have the apps folder on the hard drive.

Are opening wiiflow from a channel on your menu or from the homebrew channel?

I'm running the Orchid forwarder so NOT launching out of Homebrew.... I just updated both wii's yesterday to the latest iOS's from the guide which is the dx versions. I have NOT tried accessing the trouble drive outside of using the forwarder channel from HomeBrew

last post was unclear... I have not tried running WiiFlow fom HBC to see if it would access the trouble drive. It DOES access the GOOD drive, same as the forwarder reading the working WBFS drive

See if wiiflow is in the homebrew channel. If it is and it won't load from there, try what cjizzle suggested.

That could be something there... I have not tried copying ALL the game files, just 10 or so to see if it's working. could that DB file be my issue? won't access if it's not all of the files? news to me.
