USB Loader does not load games

    Hey All,

So I got a Wii as a gift, first time Wii owner. I've soft modded the Wii, and installed necessary software for using an external HDD.

Here's some info about my Wii:

    Version: 4.2U
    Homebrew Channel is installed
    DOP-Mii v.12
    cIOS38r17
    USB Loader GX v.2.3 r1123

    Here is the problem.

I followed instructions as per the tutorial on: How to Back Up and Play Your Wii Games from an External Hard Drive.

Everything worked as mentioned in the turtorial. I used WFBS manager 3.0 to format my external drive and load Wii Games on it.

The usb loads up fine, recognizes all the games I loaded on the external drive, but when I click "play" it boots me back to the Homebrew Channel. I have tried adjusting the load IOS from 249, 222, and 223, but no luck getting the games to play.

Any suggestions, any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks.

Download syscheckGx through the homebrew browser and post the results.

Follow the Softmod Any Wii in the recommended guides section and get everything up to date. That is the safest and most reliable method to both get up to date, and get support from the experts here (not me!). You should probably be able to start at the section for those who have homebrew channel installed.

Everything I've read recently declares WBFS format as outdated. You should look into using Fat32 or NTFS.

you need to reload the correct ios for the ones above 200 with stub, you may also need wads for the ones below 200 cuz should only have 6 of those stub ios i believe

    Hello again,

I tried to follow the recommended ciOS pack installation.

When I try to do step 5, loading a fakesigned IOS, i get a message that says: Not loading stub IOS.

Can I still proceed with the next steps if I get that?

    Thanks.

I am having this exact same problem. However, it will work with one HD (my friends), yet it won't work with mine. My friends HD is formatted just as mine is. Only difference is his is a Sabrent 2.5" 500G and mine is a Fantom 3.5" 1.5TB. If it works with his I don't understand why it doesn't work with mine.

@vwdriver - What type of USB HD are you using?

    Here is my SysCheck:

My brother was the one who did the Soft Mod, I believe he used the guide on Wiihacks, I remember seeing him on this website. How can I verify if the soft mod was done as per your guide?

I'm using a 250GB Seagate 2.5" external drive. USB powered. I checked and it is on the compatibility list. Perhaps, I can try with another HD and see what happens.
