Wii 4.3E - upgrade IOS 249 to d2x some doubts

    Hello everyone,

I really need a little help in this matter. So let me explain what I have done so far.

My firmware is the 4.3E and I asked an friend a help to install the homebrew chanel, etc. So following the tutorial I used the Letterbomb and installed the Homebrew Channel and the Bootmii. Then I uninstall the IOS stub and for that I downloaded an file from the tutorial that contain the bootmii and an folder WAD with the following wad's inside:

    WAD\IOS222 STUB.wad
    WAD\IOS223 STUB.wad
    WAD\IOS249 STUB.wad

Then I download another pack from the tutorial and that pack have the following files:

    apps\cios_installer
    apps\Wad Manager 1.5
    bootmiiWAD\249-v17.wad
    WAD\NeoGamma R8 Final.wad
    boot.dol
    IOS38-64-v3610.wad
    startup.elf

So, using the bootmii, the program asked me for what IOS version to use during the installation, I choose the option Do not reload IOS and then I choose "Installing Wad" and start the installation. After that, in the Homebrew channel I started the Wadmanager and select 249 ios version, then in the option "select nan emulation device" I select "disable" and in the "select source device" I select "wii slot". And I installed the two files .WAD, "249-v17.wad and NeoGamma R8 Final.wad".

    Ok so far so good.

The problem was when I tried to used the wiiflow to play. After some research I realize that maybe the problem was that the version of IOS don't allow the use of USB HDD with FAT32 partion. So using the SD card with the wiiflow and the USB HDD format to WBFS I tried to play but the Wii restart.

Then I saw that I needed to update from the version 249 to d2x.

But this is a quite confuse to me.

Do I need to uninstall the 249 IOS? Where I uninstall?
Do I need to revert something that I have already install?

    Thanks in advance,

    Cyrus3v

Thanks BluPhant for the answer. The only thing I regret was that I didn't find this forum sooner.

I want to follow the guide that I found here, but my doubt and my afraid is how do revert this situation and how do uninstall this stuff. Can you point me to the right direction?

Follow the Soft Mod Any Wii Guide...Below In my Signature.
This softmod will overwrite everything, so you don't need to delete anything.

Start fromSoft mod with Homebrew channel Installed.(Chapter 1, Part 1)

Well I did try in my browser (Opera) and in Internet Explorer and didn't work. But now I don't know why but the link is working.

To clarify my position, my situation isn't that kind that I followed another tutorial and the things got wrong. The softmod is working the problem is that some games doesn't work, thats why I need to know how I upgrade my IOS to one that supports the games and have less bugs.

I didn't see this part. Thanks jax

My afraid was that I install an IOS and then enter in conflict with the 249 version and as I learned I get a brick

Any wii means any wii. Regardless of what you've done to it. Again, read the newbies thread in my sig. It's got lots of usefuler info in it.
