Question Can this Wii be soft modded? (From UK)

    Hello everyone,

I have just decided to jump on the wii bandwagon by planning to buy a wii. However, I want to make sure that the wii I'm going to buy can be soft modded.

I'm going to buy this one and I was wondering if someone who has bought the same product, has successfully soft modded their wii to play wii and gamecube backups.

Nintendo Wii Console with Wii Remote Plus: Amazon.co.uk: PC & Video Games

If the link doesn't work. It's the black version of the wii which comes on a vertical stand with a motion plus inbuilt controller with sports resort bundle.

    Cheers

Thank you for the reply. I have one last question. Am I right in thinking that the wii I'm planning to buy cannot play backed up gamecube games as I have just read that all new white, black and red wii's cannot read burnt media so it will not be possible to play gamecube backups unless I hardmod it. Is this correct?

Do I have any alternatives like running gamecube iso's from my HDD straight to the wii? Or is the only solution to buy a old version which is nearly impossible now or to hard mod?

    Thank you for your help.

yes newer wiis cant play backup discs and usb loading is the only way (but better) getting an older wii to play game cube backups or hard mod it is the only option
