Lightbulb Letterbomb + Hackmii + "Press 1 to Continue (anti-scam screen)" = No remote function?

So I've seen quite a few guides on working with 4.3(u) - It should be pretty simple, the process is not very long at all. They all tend to be short and simple, DL "this", extract it to "that", turn "this" on, run "this", observe.

I just bought a new black Wii (that comes with super Mario bro.s). I've tried several different SD / Micro sd + adapter's and I'm getting the same issue with any of them so I'm going to guess that's not it.

It brings up the letterbomb just fine, gets to the anti-scam screen just fine. After that I see the wii-mote's lights power off, and a few seconds later I get the "press 1 to continue" - I try to do that and it doesn't work of course because the wii-mote is off, if I try and power it back on all 4 lights flash and it wont sync / connect (I'm guessing, either way I get no response from it). I can't tell if the Wii is freezing or if it's just not recognizing the Wii-mote at this point. I've read that one fix is to try a GC controller, well this gen of wii doesn't have the interface for the GC controller. I've also read to try and use an older Wii-mote, which I'm in the process of obtaining now. I do, however, have a 2nd controller i've purchased, if that would matter / help at all? (I haven't tried, I just assume it's similar enough to not make a difference). I was just curious if there are any other suggestions to fix this? I'd like to provide a system dump but from what I understand I can't do that till I'm softmodded / HBC'd .

I had planned to follow / find a guide on here on soft modding but the only one I've found so far says very specifically at the top not to use it, that it's under construction. The link to the tut in Bmario's(SP?) sig is broken, but I'm guessing that's due to the fact that that tut is down, so I've read anyway (Is there an ETA on that?). Is there any other tut anyone can suggest / link or should I just wait for this one to get fixed?

If there is any relevant information I can provide let me know and I'll get it up ASAP. The most I've looked up my self is the Menu ver (4.3u) and the Mac addy(you don't really need to know =D ).

---Edit----> Would this post help any? If so, when I try and DL the hackmii-fix.zip it says its a private file.
--NVM, I'm going to guess not, since I'm specifically trying to use letterbomb. It's not even mentioned in that tut.

Not sure what your issue could be. You can post sd:\installer.log here if more info is needed, but try this
Hold the red sync button on the wii, the one by the sd card, hold it from 30-60 seconds.
Then resync your wiimote, just one. Press the red button on the wii, then press the red button on the wiimote (found by the battery).
Then try hackmii again. If the problem persists, try new batteries, not rechargable (just for this).
If non of that helps post the installer log, perhaps it will tell us something useful.
    Ipsa scientia potestas est.

Tried the resync'ing with both wii-motes (one at a time - removed the batteries from the other while trying this). They both have brand new batteries in them (I bought a new package not the crap they come with). Still didn't work. If it helps at all I can still hear the drive spinning?.

The good news is you have bootmii ios installed
The bad news is hackmii appears to hang while testing boot2 compatibility with your wii.
Try to wait 5-10 min, see if your wiimotes ever come on.

The other good news is, your wii is completely hackable. You just may have to live without HBC 1.08. There are a few alternatives if it fails to install for you. Keep trying, it it continues to fail, I will give you a detailed alternative.

Yeah it's actually been sitting at the scam screen behind me since my previous post, so I think it's safe to say its not going to happen ... this way at least. So no HBC ... ever? lol

Also not trying to sound like a giver-up'er lol. I had come across a few other posts somewhere that had said to give it 20 minutes or so. I've done that twice today not including it just sitting around for the past hour or so. I've also tried a few different methods i've found here or there, and several different media types like I think I mentioned above. Also tried fat 16 / 32 here and there, I've seen that both are preferred on different sites.

OK, well I see no reason why it would not install, hackmii must not like you or perhaps your new wii. Anyway, you don't really need it.
Here is what you should do
download wiimod- Free File Sharing Made Simple - MediaFirextract the boot.dol / boot.elf from /app/wiimod to sd:\ ,replacing hackmii boot.elf
    Download cboot2 -link
    E
    xtract the cboot2 /bootmii folder and startup.elf to sd:\
Now do your letterbomb, wiimod should load
Select to change ios, select ios254
Now cboot2 should load wiimod with ios36 with ahbprot patches, now you can install anything you want.

I think you should do two things
    - install the backup HBC MAUI wad from the softmod any wii guide, do this from the wadmanager of wiimod
    - downgrade ios34 to v3091, do this form wiimods ios menu (no patches)

Now a have a HBC of sorts, which will load apps, but does not support newer ahbprot apps- but you can work with it.

OK, now you do need to make a nand backup before you go any further. You first need to delete sd:\bootmii (cboot2)
Now you need a hackmii bootmii folder, here is one- bootmii folder.rarNow you may need to edit sd:\bootmii\bootmii.ini to support your display, this one is pal, you may need ntsc. Or perhaps use the bootmii ini from the cboot2(sorry, figure it out)
Now load the backup HBC, press home on the wiimote and load bootmii. Bootmii should load and you can make a nand backup.

Assuming your following the softmod any wii guide, you can now go to chapter 2. If you are following any other guide, you can go to the part just after installing cios236.

    Have fun.

I'm getting a similar issue. I goes right past the scam screen at this point but the wiimote does pretty much the exact same thing once i get into wiimod. I can, however, hold the power button on the wiimote and the console shuts off? but I can not do anything in wiimod menu.

    Current IOS: 80 V6944

via please.hackmii.com - Should I not bundle hackmii?

This look about right for the SD?

It can never be easy can it. Extract the whole wiimod folder to sd:\apps
You should have sd\apps\wiimod\boot.dol sd:\apps\wiimod\wiimod.txt, etc.
Now edit the wiimod.txt, change autoload ios=0 to 57
Save that, then copy the wiimod.txt to sd:\
Try to load wiimod again via letter bomb.
Wiimod should load under ios57, you should see that in the upper right corner of the screen. If ios57 fails to make the wiimote work, try a few others. Say 58, 38, 36.
