Pretty much ready to KILL USB Loader GX. Seriously.

Alright, fellas. Damsel in distress here, try to be as gentle as possible in your answers.

Here's the deal: I've been having issues with USB Loader GX for quite some time. I've got 13 different games - all in proper ISO format - stored on an NTFS hard drive, of which USB Loader will only let me play about three of them (WiiSports, Carnival Games, and Super Mario Galaxy 1, if that helps you at all. Kindly try not to criticize my game choice, I was just stoked about being able to rip games on this thing). All the rest give me various issues when I try to start them, ranging from a simple return-to-home-screen all the way to a black-screen-and-disconnected-Wiimote, for which I have to manually get up and power the stupid thing off and on. Actually, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Kirby's Return to Dreamland (a couple of the aforementioned problematic games) decided to change it up on me yesterday... they now give me the black screen, but they keep one Wiimote light on, just so I know they're still there. Watching me. Laughing at me. Reveling in my technological idiocy. It's infuriating, to say the least.

I suspect it's not an issue with corruption - what are the odds that SO MANY of these files are corrupted? The more likely answer is that something's wrong with my setup, particularly given that even Super Mario Galaxy 1 gave me the black screen until I tinkered with the settings for a bit. And I did try applying the same Game Settings to other games, but no dice. Black screens across the board, and I'm running out of ideas. I've seriously messed with every single possible combination of settings. Forcing NTSC, forcing PAL, using that Error Fix thing. No, seriously. Languages, system defaults, disc defaults, console defaults... I've tried pretty much everything, and nothing seems to work.

I even tried to avoid the problem completely by switching to other loaders (NeoGamma, Configurable USB Loader). Of course, neither of those could even FIND my drive, let alone play the games on it. Typical.

I've checked thousands of different posts, tons of different forums, and after installing pretty much anything I could find in a ZIP file that someone on the internet suggested for similar issues, I'm here - syscheck in hand - begging for guidance.

    Spoiler

Oh, and I softmodded using Letterbomb and am running 4.3U. Beyond that, I think I've pretty much covered everything. Thanks in advance - I'm forever grateful.

Did you rip all of the games using GX? Both the ones that work AND the ones that don't?

Not all, no. In fact, just one of them (Wii Play) was ripped directly within GX, and that one worked from the get go. Super Mario Galaxy 1 was NOT ripped from GX, nor was Carnival Games, both of which work now. Certainly ripping them all would be one way of going about it, but I was wondering if perhaps there was some sort of software-related fix - I mean, fiddling with the options was how I got Super Mario Galaxy working, so I figured maybe there was a similar solution for the others.

First make sure the default IOS in GX is set to 249. Then try ripping just one of the games that are not working, it shouldn't take very long. Then test it to see if it works. BTW what version GX are you running and what make and model is the HDD you are using?

Sadly, default IOS is already / was already set to 249. And the suggestion to rip the games is certainly a good one, but unfortunately, I left the actual discs back at my parents' place when I went away to law school. I do want to play these games, sure, but not enough to shell out for a plane ticket on a student's salary . That's why I was hoping for a workaround. If we assume that the rips aren't corrupted, what would be plan B?

I'm running GX version 2.3 r1123, and my HDD is a 1TB Western Digital MyPassport for Mac.

Take a look at this guide. And have you tried any other loaders? CFG, WiiFlow, etc? You also might try burning an ISO to a DVD and seeing if it will play with Neogamma. If the disks aren't corrupted, at least one of these should work.
