    Help update my softmod wii

Hi my friend modded my wii a long time ago and I would like to play some newer games. My wii has a hbc and a usb loader. I believe it has fireware 3.3. I havent the faintest clue where to start, any help is appreciated. TIA.

i have read the softmod any wii guide and i have a few questions. After i do the ios update, do i have to find the priiloader 6.0? I have installed a preloader 0.29. Is this good enough to use or do i have to get the priiloader? Also the other apps i have under the hbc which are neogamma 8 RC3, wad manager, trucha bug restorer, and a few cios files (cioscorp 38r14). This should give you an idea of the fireware Im running. So the other question is do iI have to update the other apps also? example neogamma, wad manager etc?

If you follow the whole guide (which is HIGHLY recommended) it will install priiloader (the updated version of preloader) and a newer version of neogamma (the backup loader channel). With the advancements made since when you first modded, you no longer need trucha bug restorer. If you want a wad manager use MMM. Cioscorp is an older version of Darkcorp which allows you to run backup discs through the disc channel. You can accomplish the same end result of playing games from backup discs by using the backup loader channel. Please keep in mind that darkcorp is not supported by Wiihacks, simply because it mucks up every single IOS on your Wii, where our guides don't...that being said it is your Wii so if you want to install it thats your choice.

I appreciate any guidance, I had afriend mod the wii first, I didnt realize it was a bad thing, (darkcorps). Im trying to follow the guide but Im so confused. So the only file I need is ISO update.zip? It has 25 wads. Is the priiloader another item I have to download? I dont see a file like that in the ISO update.zip file.

Darkcorp is not necessarily a bad thing, its just that we do not support it here. We support our guides, and if you have any issues you can come back here and we will help you with those.

Now to the core issue, follow the ENTIRE guide, beginning to end. Don't skip steps, dont start halfway through, dont just download one rar file and expect things to magically work themselves out. The ANY Wii guide is laid out in the exact order that you should do things. Be patient and follow it. It may seem intimidating at first, but after you complete it you will look back and realize that it wasn't so bad

You are correct. The ANY Wii guide will overwrite anything that it needs to. Start at the very beginning, chapter1, part 1, softmods with homebrew channel installed.
