Roommate dropped Wii/HDD. Now the top two most played games won't work.

Brawl and Mario Kart will load and then not work. Mario Kart gets to the health and safety/wriststrap warning screen and stays there, eventually fading to a black screen. Brawl will let you get to the point you have to press start, then blank screen.

However, other games work fine, as far as we can see. Tested with MH Tri, NSMB, and Mario Party.

Any idea how to fix this? Tried deleting/re-adding games and enabling 002 fix to no avail.

Malurth. May I suggest you drop the roommate, Was the unit powered up when it was dropped. Have you tried loading original discs? Is the Disc drive spinning? Will the unit take a disc in. Have you tried hooking Hard Drive to a PC and opening files. Are the two faulty games wbfs files or disc.To many options. You may have misaligned disc laser.
Or Damaged part of hard disc drive.

I've done this and it sucks... Just had to get a new hdd in the end and rip my most played games using the original disks again..

try adding any other game to the hdd and see if that works (like wiisports.) This could rule out a bad rip from your games that aren't working if wiisports loads. Could also be a hdd issue as narse says in which case you'd better backup anything on your dead one you need now.

    - both were powered on
    - I have not, we tried to find someone with a Wii game to no avail
    - it loads gamecube games fine, so I'd have to say yes
    - the HDD will transfer files back and forth on my PC on both partitions fine
    - the faulty games are wbfs, they are all on my HDD

so I'm thinking HDD problem. In which case new HDD no problem since I can transfer fine.

I had something similar happen to a WD Passport 320gb hdd. My daughter stepped on it while it was powered on. Then it would not work in the Wii anymore. I plugged it into my pc, ran disk check. Then followed the fat32 setup guide. Now the drive has been working great for over a year.

I would say NOT to back up your games and reinstall, but instead reinstall all your games after with the original disks. As some of your games might be corrupted.
