Which softmod method is best: mauifrog's or modmii?

Hello, I'm new here and couldn't find an answer to this question with the search.

I bought a used Wii which was softmodded. It works perfectly, I put on the wifi (did NOT update from Nintendo) and downloaded game covers and an update for the pre-installed usb loader gx.

Obviously, I'm now the envy of all my mates, and being the most computer literate, I've been asked to softmod a few mates' Wiis.

So now I'll repeat the question: is it best to use mauifrog's guide or modmii?

I like the idea of modmii: I download a program, answer the questions and it does all the work, but mauifrog seems to have total respect on this site.
I'd much rather use modmii but is it 100%?

ALSO, my Wii DOES NOT have the Homebrew Channel on it. I'm confused as to how USB Loader GX was installed without it. I suppose I should start a new thread just to ask this, but am hopeful someone with knowledge will spot it here.

Thanks to all who take the time to read this.

I used Mauifrog's guide and it works a treat
I found that reading through and doing all the steps myself helped me understand the basics a little better and enables me to resolve issues myself rather than bothering the staff on here with Noob boobs
If you'r going to start doing it for you'r friends I Would defo learn how to do it properly as they will hold you accountable if it goes wrong or they muck it up later. Mauifrog's guide also has basic brick protection so you'r mate's are less likely to come back to you saying oop's my Wii no longer works can you fix it

    Thanks.

It's only a couple of mates who want me to do theirs and nobody has Lego Indiana Jones, which Mauifrog recommends everyone using.

I guess it's just best to try to figure it out then - can't be so difficult if thousands are doing it!
I'm curious if Modmii actually works though.

You will get more support with Mauis guide. You can use LetterBomb (no game needed) if you need to Mod a 4.3.... That method is detailed in Mauis guide. Near enough any menu system under 4.3 can be exploited using banner bomb (no game needed).

Modmii just bundles the software needed for the Mod. You still need to do the work lol...

Mauis guide has all the Software to and you don't have to answer any questions..

Your doubt of "mauifrog's or modmii" is the same as mine.
I would appreciate if someone could clarify some doubts I have.
If everywhere is written to NEVER DOWNGRADE or mess around with the ios of SM, why in Mauifrog's guide he recomend to downgrade? What do you gain following his sugestion? Or better, what do I lose if I didn't downgrade my 4.3u to 4.1? And if I skip the downgrade portion of the Mauifrog's guide, could I put myself into some kind of danger (brick) or incompatibility with something?

Did you try asking him in his guide? Seems like the logical thing to do.

If you go to The Tutorial.....there is a Faq on whats installed and it answers some, if not all your questions.
