    newer backsups wont play

    Hi all,

I am new to wii softmodding, although i have been doing softmoding for years now on other various consoles mostly sony. i followed mauifrog's softmod any wii guide and was able to get it runnning homebrew without any problems. The first couple of backup games ran with no problem ( mario kart and twighlight princess), but it seems like when i try and run more recently released backup games it first looks like its going to work i go to the disc channel it tells me what game is in the drive and procedes to launch the game then I get a black screen with the follow error message: "An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button, remove the Game Disc, and turn the power off. Please read the Wii operations manual for more information." I am not sure were i should go from here or what to do to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Disk channel for disk backups on a softmod?
You'll probably have to look for the guide to post a system check.

So older backups play through the disc channel, but newer backups won't. Is that what you are saying?

Reason I ask is because backup disc's don't usually play through the disc channel, unless you have cIOSCORP/Darkcorp installed.

Normally a backup disc would be played through a backup launcher, such as Neogamma.

EDIT: Sorry Odd. I was typing as you posted lol.

Yep disk channel is gonna use one of those cioscorp IOS, and a loader will use the Cios that Maui's guide had you install.

so if im understanding correctly my wii shouldnt be able to play any backups at all through the disc channel with my current setup, but if I install the cioscorp/darkcorp the games should work with the disc channel correctly?
