Wii 4.3 with HBC and BootMii installed... where does the path lead next?

Hello from AZ... Im brand new here and first want to say hello.

I finally got around to hombrewing my wii last night and got HBC and BootMii installed, but in reading here I am feeling totally overwhelmed. I honestly dont know what to do next and I feel really lame given the technical expertise of members on here.

I am interested in loading a USB loader (for backups of course )and also have the ability to run emulators/ROM's. I apologize since Im sure this is a topic of discussion many times over and over on here but I truly am lost. if PM's are a better way to do this please do so.

    Thank for your time,
    M

Take a look at the Mod Any Wii guide. Having HBC and bootmii isn't sufficient to run backups from usb....

Keep it to forum... No need for PM's

    Thanks Narse!

Thats actually the modding guide I looked at months ago and was directed to by a friend... just waited til my wii was out of warranty to give it a go.

    Thanks again.

ok so I have to thank Maui when I can and Narse for dangling the e-carrot enough for me to do this on my own. Easy process.... if you can read and pay attention... softmodding is rather easy. That being said, I will be loading a USB loader and a WBFS manager today in an attempt to regain control of my backups I have made over the years.

My only concern is the amount of programs out there for USB loaders and for the WBFS managers.... is there a preferred program for both for a softmodded 4.3 wii? I have found links containing multiple ones and Id just rather choose the one with the highest regard of the "uber" users here.

    thanks in advance.

USB Loaders are what the user makes of them. The Mod any Wii guide was mainly designed to work with CFG USB Loader but there are the other 2 USB Loader GX or WiiFlow... It's what you like at the end of the day. All 3 are good.

A hard drive formatted to Fat32 or NTFS is the way to go and the best pc apps to use for all your iso --> wbfs needs are Wii Backup Manager or Wii Games Manager...

    Many thanks again Narse.

Is there a disbenefit of staying with CFG vs the other two? Im big on the " if it aint broke dont fix it" mantra... I see no need to cause issues by trying to load WiiFlow or GX... I just want the one that will work with the widest variety of my backups without tampering with the settings.

No CFG is a good loader to stick with...

Some games need a bit of extra attention ie. cIOS changing in the settings of CFG but after its done once and saved thats it. The way the loaders are going you won't even need to do that the loader will pick the correct cIOS for you in the future. I think WiiFlow does this already...
