Configurable USB Loader Freezing During Install of Games

Hello all, I am completely new to this and could very much use some assistance. First of all, let me say thank you for having such a great community with a dearth of information on these topics. First of all, I originally modded my Wii using MicrowaveSam's tutorial on Youtube. I know, I know, I should have come here first. Anyway, I went through Maui's guide and did all of his instructions as well upon discovering this site. I'm not sure if I missed a step, perhaps I needed to delete some of the other things rather than just reapply some items. I used three separate SD cards rather than reformatting the same one again and again as I had a few left over from the genesis of the digital camera revolution and thought it would be a good idea to have some way to track my progress throughout setup and not lose anything if needed.

Down to the meat and potatoes, whenever I try to install a game using the Configurable USB Loader, it freezes before copying the entire game. I have a Western Digital My Passport Essential Hard Drive which I've already formatted to FAT32. However, I don't have any WBFS section of any kind on it if that could be an issue. I've tried installing Wii Sports multiple times to have it freeze around 24%. I'm not sure if I need to change the IOS or cIos but any help in any of these matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    Your Newest Noob :P

Post a SysCheck. Consult the FAT32 guide and Config USB guide.

Your syscheck looks good.. I suspect either the Discs are in poor condition or your hdd is having issues.. Did you follow the guide Nightstah posted about FAT32?

I am doing that at the moment. I checked the compatibility list and it seems that the drive I picked up, Western Digital My Passport Essential 320 GB Model WDBACY3200ABK-NESN may be listed under ones with compatibility issues if I'm reading correctly. "- Western Digital MyPassport Essential USB3.0 WDBACY3200ABK-EESN - Working with external power supply, Not Working without the external power supply" (That is the closest model I could find, this is just the portable hard drive so there is no external power supply aside from USB cord connection unless I'm mistaken)

I will report back further upon reviewing the guide more thoroughly.

Edit: Also, most of my discs are in pretty good condition. I've always kept them in the cases when not in use.

I reformatted the drive just in case, again in FAT32 as suggested, even using the same program shown in the guide. I tried another game that I rarely use (read: looks brand new) and am still experiencing the same issue of freezing upon install. Any further suggestions would be appreciated. Once again, thanks for all of the assistance.

Bottom port for the Wii. I have the disc tray at the top with the SD card sitting below it in the horizontal position. If it were stranding, it would be the leftmost port.

I tried it with a USB Memory Stick as well that I had laying around and it still has the same issue where it's freezing during the install. I hope the laser on the Wii isn't going...
