2 USB Drives - Neither works?

    I followed the softmod guide...
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html
...on my original white wii. All installed fine.

I have tried two USB drives though and I can't get either of them to mount in any app. One is an old powered Western Digital media drive, the other is a newer Toshiba usb powered 320gb drive that some say work fine on the compatibility list.

I formatted both straight Fat32 single partition. Copied one game folder and game file and that's it. Wii homebrew Xplorer doesnt see either, nor does CFG loader. I've tried both USB ports. I hear that the toshiba drive is spinning, so it is getting powered.

I also tried formatting both using the WBFS manager tool, but same result.

Any ideas? Have I just picked two bad drives? I don't want to buy one when it might be something else.

    Thanks for any help.

Did you use one of our guides to format to FAT32?

Did you rip from your original game via a usb loader?

Yes, It was just a straight simple quick FAT32 format using Fat32 Gui Formatter. I did nothing else to it. Even with nothing on the drive (no games or anything) it cannot mount it.

Ok - Redid the Fat32 with the tool and it still didn't work. Swapped out the USB cable (that worked fine on the computer) and now it seems to be working - hopefully it stays that way, as I don't know if this HD has the sleep problem or not. Thanks for the assistance.
