External HDD broke- received replacement... need help!!!

I was using a 320gb my passport, but it broke. i contacted western digital and they shipped me out a 500gb version. Is there a way for me to make 3 partitions?

Why wouldnt there be? You decide the size of the partitions, you can make as many as you want.

im kinda confused though... i thought you could only make 1 fat32 partition and one wbfs partition r wit wouldnt work? also why would i need to keep the fat32 drive used for loading vc and wiiware to under 30gb?

FWIW I have a wd 320 with the entire drive formatted to fat32 and have no issues loading games, mighty channels, homebrew, etc.

If i make 2 fat32 partitions and one wbfs would it still work? i dont want to waste the drive for wbfs and i know you can only have 30gb max for the fat32 partition or so ive been told when you go my route.

What route are you referring to when you say you can only have a 30gb max for the fat32? And why do you need a WBFS partition? Not sure I'm following you here....

Ok, I see. First off that 30gb limit is not correct, and you do not need to have multiple partitions. Follow THIS GUIDE for setting up your new drive. That will get you sorted!
