Off to buy a Wii - What Chipset do I want?

I'm about to head over to a 2nd-hand shop that deals with electronic items, I'll ask them for the serial so I can see what chipset it has inside, which chipsets are good? I know there are some that are able to use burned backups (specifically so I can backup my old gamecube games on to multi-game disks), so yeah.. what chipset is good?

Save your money and Softmod it..... less headaches and would be the better way to go in my opinion.

That's what I'm planning to do, but to play backup gamecube games (through DVDs) I need to have and older Wii, right?

Yes you want an older wii.
    Not a red or black.
Boot2 if you can because this will give you complete brick protection.
