Softmoded my Wii but having trouble. Please help.

Hello everyone. Okay, so I softmodded my 4.3u black wii using the Letterbomb hack (worked like a charm to get Homebrew channel). But, when I try to do the CIOS-Pack and Modpack-NTSCU I'm confused! I'd like a step by step instruction (with pics if possible) to help me complete this. Please!

My goals are to be able to back-up my games to an external hard drive and play them through that. (Too many scratched disks of late.)
I'd like to be able to modify the Wii Menu if possible also.
I'd like to know which is best to use Wii Flow or a USB loader to load the games from the external hard drive.

Also, I have an old XBOX360 hard drive that I no longer use. I'd like to some how be able to use this to store some games until I can get a proper/larger hard drive. Is this possible? I've got a transfer USB cable. And way I can do this? I've heard I can use Xplorer360 (its a software) for getting into the hard drive, but how could I configure it to store games?...

Softmod any wii guide is as good as it gets!

Back up games no problem, Don't mess with themes on yoyr system menu unless u have bootmii boot2, and the usb loader is just down to preference they all basically do the same.
