    WiiFlow 2.1 - Forwarder reboots and a couple of WiiFlow cosmetic issues

    Hi, I've managed to softmod my Wii using 4.3e, installed Darkcorp and am using cIOS249 rev17 but am now experiencing trouble with WiiFlow 2.1 (IOS249 version of course) and am after some assistance. WiiFlow itself functions but there are a few questions I have (and yes, I have searched both this forum and the internet first):

    1) On WiiFlow, when I go to download the cover art from WiiTDB, it says "initialising network", connects to WiiTDB, says it's downloading files (although part of the title cuts off so not sure what) and making .WFC files, after a while of this it will say Full Cover Not Found. After this being repeated several times it ends with telling me 0 out of ten downloads worked.

    Why does this happen and how can I stop it? I know the internet works because Wii News Channel updates. I also know the troubleshooting section of http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...-settings.html says WiiTDB could be experiencing slowdowns but I have tried over the course of two days at different times and have the same problem.

    2) Again on WiiFlow, the only theme I can choose is the default theme. I've kept the paths the same as when I downloaded WiiFlow:

    apps --> wiiflow --> boot.dol for WiiFlow itself
    wiiflow --> Themes for the themes

    Where am I going wrong?

    3) I suppose this is the only really important question. WiiFlow Forwarder reboots to the Wii System Menu. I know this is supposed to happen if I mess up installation and don't have the boot.dol in either USB:/wiiflow/ or USB:/apps/wiiflow but I do so I'm at a loss. This is the folder structure I have:

    wad -> Starnight-FIX94v11forwarder-DWFA.wad WiiFlow-WFBJ(honey).wad IOS35.wad
    apps -> wiiflow -> boot.dol icon.png language.ini meta.xml titles.ini
    WAD_Manager_1.7 -> boot.dol license.txt readme.txt readme.es.txt
    wiiflow -> fanart - > gameid.ini
    wiiflow -> themes - > all the standard themes folder plus corresponding .ini files

    I downloaded the latest version of IOS35 using the NUS Downloader and installed via the WAD manager but still no joy. Looking at the forum I did see a solution to this problem, but it involved buying a new hard drive. Can anybody see anything I'm doing wrong? Sorry for being a newb and thanks to anybody who can help.

    I've managed to sort out the horrible lack of line spacing so putting this post here to encourage people who looked at it and couldn't be bothered as it looked so bad to give it another go, lest it be lost....

    It wasn't so much a bump, more changing the amount of replies so people who might have overlooked it might give it another go... thanks anyway!

    Anyway, as far as the themes are concerned I found this in a closed thread:

    "The only ideas that come to my mind is that your fat partition is not set to active or the self contained channel app can't access themes outside of the channel wad itself. If you installed triiforce as an app instead of a channel, you should have a themes folder that it should be able to locate."

    So by this logic my FAT32 partition should be active for the themes to display - but I was told when partitioning the USB drive that WBFS partition should be primary and active and FAT32 should be logical... which is true? Or is the workaround not to use a WBFS partition at all? I've since found that is possible, but not after spending hours faffing about with WBFS (groan!).

    I tried USB Loader GX and the forwarder for that rebooted to system menu too, so I thought the problem was hard drive related, either the partitions or the hardware itself.

    So I thought I'd try to use one single FAT32 partition on the HD and see what happens. I followed the guide at http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...g-playing.html, installed Hermes cIOS222 successfully, and ran WiiFlow with a .wbfs game in the wbfs folder. The forwarder fails again so I guess I've got a hardware problem with the hard drive. But WiiFlow doesn't find the .wbfs file on the FAT32 drive (primary and active) so I guess I've got to figure that out now...

    Everything seems to be in order - just one question

    Well I appear to have sorted a lot of issues today. I hate seeing threads where somebody asks a question that I want the answer to myself, and the next day says "nevermind fixed it!" so I will log the problems and how they were solved in case they're helpful to anybody else.

    The single FAT32 partition works, I did the Hermes 222 update and the cIOSx 249 rev 19 one as the Hermes 222 didn't seem to work at first. It could not find the test .wbfs game I put on the FAT32 drive. Unfortunately, it didn't work with cIOSx 249 rev 19 either. The drive was logical, primary, active... what was going on? The problem was, I had a test .wbfs file using this path:

    USB:\wbfs\Title [GAMEID]\GAMEID.wbfs

    ... as it was recommended in a guide on this forum - but just USB:\wbfs\GAMEID.wbfs worked for WiiFlow.

    I got "disc_setUSB failed" for the test game, but a further two have worked with no issue. This game previously worked on a .wbfs partition, but 2/3 ain't bad, I'll just have to see what I can do.

    Also, the covers downloaded straight away and the themes work despite the file structure being the same as on the wbfs/FAT32 drive so I guess having the partition as active etc. does make a difference.

    The test game that doesn't work didn't work on USB Loader GX or CFG Loader either, haven't tested the two games that work on those two loaders.

    The forwarder for Wiiflow still reboots to the system menu though - is this likely to be a case of a bad hard drive?

    Cheers all!

    The forwarder channel points to a folder on the sd card ---> sd://apps/wiiflow

    It has to be wiiflow and nothing else like wiiflow_249 etc.

    USB LOADER GX requires ios 58 to be installed or it can cause it to reboot to the sm so make sure it is installed.
    Yes the drive must be set to active as it is specified in the formatting guides on here.

    A fat32 formatted drive works with cios 19 up. Rev 21 is the latest cios.

    Ps If you are loading from usb why on earth did you install crapcorps?

    I know the forwarder channel points to that folder, I spoke of it in the first post, it still does not work. It's only the USB Loader GX forwarder that reboots, USB Loader GX runs okay from HBC. I haven't installed IOS58 but it's supposed to be part of the 4.3 update, right? I was going to do the rev 21 update instead of the rev 19, but it looked a lot more daunting. I installed Darkcorps (took a while to figure out what you meant, lol) as I was originally taking things one step at a time (also I've had to borrow a friend's USB drive to get this far!), although when a lot of discs yielded no joy I decided to go the way of the USB. It is (removed swearing) or just unnecessary? *** also my lack of line break problem has returned, all cookies and cache cleared, seems to happen in the evening when the forum is slow, odd ***

    Maybe you should uninstall darkcorps and then use Mauifrogs mod any wii guide and follow it from top to bottom to make sure you have everything sorted mod wise.

    If uninstalled Darkcorp is it likely the forwarder would work? No issues other than that.

    I installed Darkcorp after the successful softmod purely for running games from disc, if uninstalled surely my Wii would still be softmodded? already done a lot of steps in that guide.

    Is there an alternative to Darkcorp to running games from disc?

    Cheers

    The forwarder needs IOS35. Darkcorp mucks up a ton of IOS'. So the answer would probably be yes, it is likely the forwarder would work. And yes you still would be able to play games from backup disk, just not from the disc channel itself.
