Disk read error after adding home brew channel.

Ok so I picked up a wii from some guy on Craig... Put in the only two games I have, resident evil zero and resident evil "1" (wii editions). Ran fine!!!! Great. So later the next day I thought I'd "unlock" my wii

Found my system menu ver. 4.2u then used the appropriate unlocker. I got home brew channel and some other apps on there just fine. Now I can't seem to get it to play my legit games. I tried the system format and still no luck. And even upgraded through network. At this point I'd be happy to just have a working wii and ditch the custom stuff.... Guys help me out please. Any links o relevant videos or anything would help.

I'm assuming you didn't get this "unlocker" from here. Post a syscheck (guide below in my sig) so that we can see what is going on inside your wii.

A lot of things you find on the net about wii softmodding are either full of fail or do not provide any support for the people who use them. We provide support and our guides are always up to date. There is only one "other" site on the net that I can think of that does the same. Post that syscheck asap and someone will help you out.

As far as hearing of this problem before, well, we have seen much worse, like wii's that won't work anymore because users followed guides from youtube (or "failtube" as we affectionately call it around here).

Sounds like a problem that shouldn't be too difficult to fix, so hopefully that makes you feel a little better!

Ok so I can't wait for the admin to approve this message because I want everyone who is gittin this error to know they need to check and make sure theyre not me because I'm the only one dumb enough to sit for 7 hours installing and uninstalling custom fw's over and over. Turns out I was simply putting the disk in upside down.

LMAO! Major Fail! but your good man for the honesty!

Also.. your softmod is outdated.. the term your using "unlocker" leads me to beleive you were scammed and paid for a "unlocker kit"?

either way.. there is a softmod guide in my signature that will get your IOS & cIOS up to date

Did I come off like a jerk?? Read more here
