You really should just hold out and get an external hard drive. They are getting less expensive every day. On that same site you are looking at there is a WD Elements 1tb external for 49.99, and it is on the compatibility list. 25 for something that holds a few games or 50 for something that holds more than you will ever buy? Just my opinion though.... (btw one of my buddies has one of those and it has worked flawlessly)

Would the 16gb stick work? Probably. Would I suggest that over a HDD? No.

I see your point. I think I will buy a larger HDD then. I had no idea they were that cheap. Thanks again for all of your help! It's really great that there are people willing to go out of their way to help.

Just wanted to say that I bought a 1TB Hitachi drive. It was $5 more than the WD elements but the WD was online purchase only and I didn't want to wait. I played for about 2 hours without a hitch so I think it must have just been the PS3 drive that was the problem. Thanks again for the help. I might need a bit more though.

As I have so much space I'm backing up my Wii game library onto the HDD. I don't have wifi access though so I'm unable to auto-download the cover art. Is there a way to manually download it to the HD? I formatted the new drive with WiiBackUp Manager 0.3.8 build 61 (not sure if this is new or old but it did the trick. I was able to sync cover art and it downloaded covers to the PC. They looked fine in the WBM program but when I plugged the HDD back into the wii the covers weren't there. Any tips? It's not crucial that I have cover art but I would like it for aesthetics' sake.

    Thanks

You can get your covers from here WiiTDB - Nintendo Wii games database
You will have make sure the cover you put in the covers folder on your sd card is the same as the games id...

I tried this but it doesn't seem to work. I tried for Punch Out (which I already copied to the HDD). I downloaded the image "R7PE01" copied it to SD-->usb-loader-->covers and changed the name to R7PE which is what the game shows up as in usb loader. I plugged in the sd, rebooted the program and nothing. Am I missing a step anywhere?

    Thanks

I like wiibackup manager for downloading my images. All you have to do is drop and drop the folder into the correct directory and you are all set.

Downloading the covers does not put them on your hdd, it puts them in the wiibackup manager folder. You need to copy them from there and put them onto your hdd. Make sure the paths are correct for your loader to find them too.
