Help needed about playing a backup

My Super Mario Galaxy disc (original) has a scratch in it and I can't get past a certain point in the game. I made a backup with imgburn and installed the HBC on my 4.3U version Wii. I want to test the backup to see if it'll let me get past this part but I don't know what you have to do to be able to play a burned disc.

    Please help. Thanks.

If your wii has the newer chipset in it then it won't play backup discs. How are you playing any of your other backups?

I got my Wii in Dec. 2008. This is my first time considering a backup of a wii game and the HBC so I'm very new to this.

You will need to mod your wii, use the softmod ANY wii link in my signature. That guide will set you up, I am pretty sure it has NeoGamma in it too. That will run your backup discs, but if you really want to make your life easier, use a usb drive and be done with discs!
