Converting from SD boot/etc. + .WBFS external to full-fledged HDD-only FAT?

So when I set up my Wii a year ago. I set it up in probably the most painful way for longterm use.

Currently all the boot/apps/etc. save to SD. And for my games, they are in .wbfs format sitting on a "wbfs" only 320-gb HDD.

My question is short and sweet. How do I convert this system over safely to the HDD-only FAT system everyone talks so amazingly of for access/convenience/consolidation?

    Thanks!!!

There is nothing wrong with your set up. If you don't like needing the sd card then you can switch it all over to fat32. You would have to copy your games to another drive then reformat the one you use for the wii to fat 32. Once that is done you can just copy your sd card to the hdd and transfer your games back to the drive. If you don't have any storage to copy your drive to while you change format then you have to do it the hard way and re-rip all of the originals.

The main problem is that I'm out of space for installing .wads on the SD card. With my current setup (the HDD is wbfs formatted) I cannot just move my .wad and things all there right?

Also, when you say copy all the games to another hdd then wipe it FAT32. How do you do that? Will I have to convert every single backup from .wbfs format to ISO? (When I hook the HDD up to my PC, it will not show me a directory at all of the wbfs game backups.

    Thanks again

Wii backup manager will transfer the games for you from one drive to the other. Look at the fat32 guide. If you extract isos you will need a lot more space than just letting the backup manager move the .wbfs files. Homebrew apps will not work on wbfs formatted drive, you need fat32. As far as .wads go, wel.....I hope you dont mean illegally downloaded games.
