what did he do to my Wii?

Tried searching, but didn't find detailed enough responses to my specific problem, nor do I have enough knowledge about the system to properly decipher the technical talk.

Brother left the country - I tried playing a new game. He has fuddled with my Wii - all kinds of stuff on my main menu:

    (across from left to right)

    Wii System Update
    Mii
    Photo Channel
    Wii Shop Channel

    Forecast Channel
    News Channel
    Wii USB Loader
    "Yoshi's Story"

    the homebrew channel
    NeoGamma
    *blank space}
    "Paper Mario"

Can't play the new game because it asks for a system update. Update failed.

What is my best course of action?

    Your Cousin Vinny

It seems that it has been softmodded. you can use the link in my signature to post a "System Check" to see what has been installed. we can assist you in removing it or fixing it to make it better.

Thanks for the quick responses. I had an idea it was softmodded, but didn't really know what he actually did to it.

I turned the console on, and immediately pressed reset.

    It shows:

    System Menu
    Homebrew Channel
    BootMii IOS

    Installed File
    Load/Install File
    System Menu Hacks
    Settings

If I select System Menu Hacks, it says "Failed to mount fat device Can't find Hacks. ini on NAND"

It will take me a bit to do the system check from the link, but I will post the results as soon as I can.

    Thanks again for the help.

    **EDIT**
Just in case it matters, at the bottom of the screen it reads:

    IOS v60
    Systemmenu v449 priloader v0.3b (r48m)

You should put it in your computer and find out whats on it.. OR you can just Fortmat it to Fat16 or 32 and resoftmod it and make it a great softmodded wii!

I put the SD in my cpu, it's either a bad disk or there's nothing on it.

I'm going to research Fat16/32 now...
