I just finished hacking a Wii following mauifrog's writeup. Done some searching around regarding using Netflix after softmodding a Wii. Question I have is if I go to the Wii Shop channel and netflix is there, can I just install and use it without any issues? Or do I need to update my Wii Shop Channel before or what? Thanks.
If you followed mauifrogs guide step by step, then Yes, you can download it and it will work. There is a part in the guide about the shop channel. You may want to give it a look first. Did you go into prilloader and block updates and ect?

Ya, I blocked all the updates too. I guess if the Wii Shop Channel needs to be updated Netflix won't be on there? Or is it an old version of Netflix?

If you were on 4.3 then your shop channel should already be up to date.
Wii is 4.1u. I went through all the steps to update the shopping channel, opened it up through system menu and it says there is an update to the wii shop channel still. Something isn't right.
Then you dont have updates blocked in prilloader. Did you install the wad from the guide?Quote:

Yes, prilloader is installed and I enabled the 4 options mentioned in the writeup which includes online and disc updates. It's OK, the owner of the Wii is fine without Netflix so they just picked it up. I'm not going to worry about it anymore. Everything else works.Quote:

It's real easy, just install the two wads from the guide Toby linked u too, if it asks for an update when trying to open the shop channel.
