Ok so bottom line, my wii drive is broken (won't read discs), every time i try to put in a disc it says it can't read it blah blah blah, my wii is already softmodded and I was wondering on how I would play backup gamecube games on my wii either using isos or what ever else I can. Is there anyone that can help me?
Get a wode or I think maybe a sundriver. You cant play GC games from usb.
Does this require any physical modification to my wii?
Yes. Take a look in their forums on here. Both are hardware modifications.

You can use the USB Gecko SD Device I believe - fits into your wii GC memory card slot. I just ordered one myself for £2 of amazon
