Like you run any HB app. Put it in the apps folder and it will appear for use in HB.... ie SD://apps/syscheck/(boot.dol/meta/.png)

Hi, it was suggested I should be able to load my covers from Wii Backupmanager but I see no option in any of the menus that says "covers" (I have 3.4), furthermore, when I launch the backup manager with my HDD plugged into my PC, I'm not seeing my drive in Wii backup manager nor do I see a place to "refresh" the drive list as I do when using WBFS Manager. I can only see my games on my lappie through WBFS, the only things I can see on my HDD when I plug it in out of WBFS are about 50 movies the modder added. So we're clear, my Wii is already modded by a seasoned modder, I have a loader (though it appears to have been last updated Christmas Day 2009) and right now I have the 2 gig SD card with my homebrew inserted in my lappie along with my 1 tera HDD, my Wii is not involved in the configuration at the moment. I suppose the obvious questions are A) Can Wii Backup manager not read my HDD due to WBFS? B) Why am I not even seeing a "covers" option in Wii Backup manager, is 3.4 not current enough. Please help at your earliest convenience my friend, I'm at a dead stop. My one and only currrent goal is to add covers and not manually (485 games) . Oh, and lastly you replied "Like you run any other HB app" This is my very first day even looking inside my SD card and HDD so I have no experience to qualify as "I would any other HB app". I don't know what "ie SD://apps/syscheck/(boot.dol/meta/.png) means (though I assume it's the system check I want to do anyway so that's valuable. Do I simply type this in the app folder or is this a file I need to go get and then add to "app" I'm sorry I'm so inexperienced, but I'm a fairly quick study, I was repairing F15's when I was barely 19. Thanks much

    Hey Skell

You have a life that doesn't involve solving my problems? heh heh. I'm sorry, I know "bumping" isn't permitted but I thought that meant when you post on top of someone else's post, didn't know there was such a thing as bumping on a line of questions only you are asking of another person. I understood bumping as posting to get your name on top of someone else's, if I'm mistaken, apologies, I'll have to look up exactly what it means.

    The rule about bumping

    7. Bumping your post tends to irritate members. Try and wait patiently for a response. Spend the time searching and reading. If you receive no response after 24 hours, please re-read your post. Chances are a rewrite is needed.

    a. Posts that have a lot of run-on sentences, no line spacing, no upper and lower case letters tend to be hard to read; most members will not even try.
    b. Questions that are posted in the wrong section, thread, or Forum also tend to be ignored.
    c. There may be insufficient information provided – generally, skip the “I’m new” sentences and focus on the Wii, its system menu version, what has been done, what isn’t working. Don’t just say xxx doesn’t work-provide an error code or screen description.
    d. Posts posing a question that has been asked and answered very frequently may also be ignored, except by a Moderator or a very kind-hearted member. Remember, there are thousands of new members registering daily, but few moderators and members available to help at any given time.
This is a paragraph from the WiiHacks Rules that all members should read on joining ---> http://www.wiihacks.com/misc.php?do=vsarules

As I mentioned, I'm sorry and I understand. I thought I had a clearer comprehension about bumping being reposting the same question in order to improve it's view. The member who is assisting me misread my question which took me in a direction that added a version of the software not applicable for my setup so my follow-up wasn't "bumping" by my understanding, it was simply clarifying a mistake. I could have tried it a hundred times and it wouldn't have worked so a follow-up question seemed appropriate, perhaps I'm mistaken. My apologies either way.

Either way the edit button should have been used.

Im not trying to give you a hard time. We try to treat all members the same and my reference to the rules was just to make it clearer so in the furure we don't have the same issue.

You called it, right on the money Skell, after installing the new backup mgr my drive was viewable and the game covers began loading as soon as I launched it! It doesn't even appear I'll need to save it in any way, am I correct as it looks like it's loading alongside each game file using the 6 digit ID. You my friend, are a bad, bad man! I'm going to read the info on how to do a syscheck but would you tell me if I can use the SD card I'm using for my Wii to add the sysinfo to send? I'm guessing there's enough space for such a small app
Happy 4th Skell, you made my son's day (and my weekend)

    Edit

No, I understand that, I just wanted you to know I would never deliberately break any rules, I'm ex military and 48, not some petulant kid with no regard for decorum.
I must have missed the "edit" option in my read. The rules are in place to keep order and you to enforce them.

and Skell is a terrific Jr Mod, his help is easy to understand without pandering to the member, devoid of straight "tech talk" many of us are still trying to discern and he understands the weak descriptors we use without flaming us for not being hip to proper terminology. These are all valuable assets when helping folks who really want to learn and it's a great way to have future "helpers" when the time comes that we help a fellow noobs, allows you Mods more time to field the more complicated problems. My highest marks to this Mod, this site and administrators like yourself.
    Happy 4th

    Edit

And I crashed and burned! Something went wrong with my covers, everything was perfect, loaded them through WBFS, they all came up and were saved to my desktop in both 2d and 3d versions, I chose 2d assuming my slightly outdated loader might not handle 3d. I copied them into the covers file of my SD card which was already created by my "modder" and was located inside the app folder as it should have been. (right click/copy/paste not a file drag if that matters) I safely ejected and after hours of work I loaded up the Neogamma, brought up our games and drat (not the word I used after 9 hours) NO COVERS! If you need to know, I did note the number of covers didn't exactly match the number of games (think it was 946 of 952 or 6 covers didn't load)
Was I supposed to rename the cover folder dol or something like that I recall reading, if that applies (my unit was pre-modded before today so I didn't do this mod from the guide)
If you'd offer a suggestion, so disappointed after so much hard work and my back is screaming! Thanks my friend

    Edit-
Good morning and a Happy Tuesday. I managed to extract te covers, all 486 of them and I put them in the covers file already in place from my "modder". It was located in the 1.5 loader file next to a .dol
I loaded it up and no covers will come up. Pretty sure I did it correctly as described here. If it matters I only added the 2D since there are too many emulators (over 1,000 easy) on my SD card. I left out 3D and full cover. Can you think of anything I might check, spent half the night on it and I didn't "mess with" anything.
    Thanks

If I'm following up with you on a project you've replied to and there is no edit button, is this the proper method? I don't want any more negative points in my first week! I donated today but don't want to PM you for little things. Be nice, it's my birthday (-;/ To refresh your memory I'm unable to add my covers to show up on my modded Wii. I did get them all downloaded using WBFS Manager to my desktop. I followed your path as you laid it out.
I took the covers and put them in the "covers" folder that was already on my SD card which took the following path: open SD card-Apps/SDUSB-Loader_v1.5/covers=all my covers (the boot.dol is next to the covers folder). I did remove a few violent games I didn't want my son to play/view so the number of covers doesn't match, shouldn't matter though since the covers are "discovered" by the 6 digit game ID. I load up my games in Homebrew with USB 1.5. ...Thank you so much
