How do I get DVDx for the homebrew channel?

Okay, so I recently installed the homebrew channel using BatHaxx and on the BootMii menu where you install stuff theres no option to install dvdx and I dont know what to do. I would also like some help on how to use the homebrew channel. Thanks.

well when i first open the homebrew channel there are 5 buttons:
    1. back
    2. about
    3. launch bootmii
    4. exit to systems menu
    5. shutdown

on the top left corner it says network not established and when i turn on my wifi nothing happens
what to i do to get it working?

What guide have you used to mod. As stated above dvdx is outdated.

There is still some homebrew code that requires it, such as ftpii. In this case it was recommended to reinstall DVDx with the HackMii v0.6 installer. Having said that, the thread originator may have other issues.

I thought DVDx was for playing dvd's. Ftpii is file transfer through network. Sounds like he needs to setup his WiFi network. If he has homebrew v1.08, won't he just get an error when trying to install DVDx?

I just made the comment because there is at least one niche where DVDx is still required. I do not know why ftpii relies on DVDx and it is certainly counter-intuitive. But ftpii no longer worked after upgrading the homebrew channel to 1.0.8 where I initially selected to removed DVDx as I thought it was no longer required. The remedy was to install DVDx using the hackmii v0.6 installer. DVDx peacefully coexists with the 1.0.8 homebrew channel.
