    Post Can't play a 2010 game (FIFA 2010-world cup) with CIOS 249 rev20 [57]

Hey, Not a complete noob but can't find a solution to this problem. I recently updated to 4.3u and reinstalled hbc, CFG USbloader, and have CIOS249 2057 and have had all my backups running smoothly through my external HD. Today I realized that I never backed up FIFA 2010 world cup and put it in to do so. However, when I insert it it says that I have to do a system update. Knowing that 4.3 is the latest system update I figured what was happening is that it doesn't like the CIOS and wanted to change it. After allowing the update that is exactly what happened--CIOS 249 was gone and so was my ability to run CFG USBloader. FIFA was available again though...So I went back and changed the CIOS once again up to 136 then 149 and, obviously, FIFA wants to "update" again. Are there any workarounds for playing/backing up games that don't like 249?
    Thanks

    Thanks for your comment peire.
I accepted the disc update just for curiosity and knowing that I would be able to softmod it again (which I did). What I think is happening is that the game doesn't like CIOS 49 and wants to use a different CIOS. Unluckily I am away from my wii until tomorrow so can't run a syscheck but will do so when I get home. What I suspect might have happened is that I went straight to CIOS 36 then up to 49 when I re softmodded it after running the 4.3 update--could it be that I need other CIOS' installed as well?

    Hi again.
Well I followed your advise and followed the any wii guide but i guess i f'd up and got reset to 4.1. I had already installed priiloader and set it to block updates before I noticed and now can't get any kind of update (official or not) to take me up to 4.3. Also, my cfg usb loader wont load anymore. I'd like to do a clean erase of everything I did with the guide so i can go back to where I was before. Any ideas? Latest sys check:

your 249 is a stub ? if you followed the guide then it shouldnt have a stub 249 you dont need to be on 4.3 as 4.3 is to kill homebrew you downgraded to 4.1 in the guide so thats ok you cant do updates because you have priiloader installed and the blocks set to enable thats a good thing aswell install a new 249 in try loading cfg again 249 shouldnt be a stub

    Thanks again,
I noticed the 249 stub but have no idea how to get rid of it. I followed this guide twice:

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

all wads loaded fine except for the first two (IOS58 and IOS61). Maybe you know of a better guide?

Any ideas how to unstub 249? Also, I uninstalled and reinstalled priiloader because i can't get it to find the hash.hack.ini file (even though it is on the root of the sd card). I'm thinking the 249 stub might be the cause?
Thanks for all your help, I appreciate it.

no that guide is top notch install a new cios rev 17 into slot 249.

    http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...cios-wads.html

When it asks which ios/cios to use for installation in wad manager select 236 or 250 or 36

Afterwards it should look like this IOS249 (rev 17): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access, USB 2.0

Thanks, any reason I should use rev17 and not a newer one like 20 or 21?
