That is nuts....lol. At least you don't have to pay. But still its crazy they sent a bill like that. I wouldn't have paid it either! It's like the price of a brand new Wii...lol. Well, I'm sure they won't fix the drive, but would be awesome if they did! But overall, at least they are sending it back without making you pay first.

I'm having a hard time believing this. It had to have been within the first 15-30 days or so of purchase. You usually can't take it back to a store after like 15-30 days depending on store policy (I've seen up to 60 though). If you try to return it after the stores return period they'll tell you to contact the manufacturer. Stores also do an off the self exchange so there is no wait period or repair on the actual defective unit. Where did your friend buy his Wii?

Sending a HACKED Wii to get looked at by people who work for a good respectable company isn't very smart.
What would make you think they wouldn't find out man?
Chances are they won't give it back to you or fix it.
They will be happy to bill you for stupidity though.
Guessing your going on Craigslist for a new one?
Eb@y can be cheap because buyers on there are.
Buyer's on Eb@y will talk seller down to $50.00 for the freakin hope dimound.lol.

I can see a denial of service. But not sending it back? It's the consumers device, and from what I understand...it's not technically illegal. So that's BS for them to hold it until payment is received. But seems like you got it straight though. Keep us posted if anything changes.
