How to load covers without connecting wii to internet?

    Hi All,

I am new to this whole modding thing, a friend of a friend recently modded my wii for me.

I am looking for a way to upload game covers to my game without actually connecting my wii to the internet. The software I'm using is WiibackupManager0.3.3.

I was told that connecting my wii to the internet might update the firmware and possibly cause errors with the modded games. Is this true?

Thanks for your help, please ask if you need any more info from me.

    Thanks,

    Rich

Go to wiitdb.com and download your covers youself. With the right protection you need not fear of updates, post a hello in the intro forum and you will recieve all of the necessary info to softmod your wii correctly as just from your words I guess you didnt follow a guide from this site, how dare you. Wiihacks supports all guides in this forum and all are well tested, no fear of bricking if you are capable of following directions. My personal favorite guide is the one in my sig.

Thanks. Like I said a friend of a friend did it for me. If I had of known about this site before I may have attempted to do it myself.

Is there a way of uploading covers to my Wii without connecting it to the internet and without doing the modding process again myself?

Yeah, like I posted previously you can download the covers yourself at wiitdb.com from your pc, then transfer them where ever your loader reads from.

Thats the thing, I can't figure out where my loader reads them from. It's probably something simple but I can't see it.

    Thanks.

Are you using an sd card or hard drive and what loader. E.g. mine is usb/wiiflow/cover art/XXXXXX.png, others could be sd/usb_loader/images/XXXXXX.png or something like that.

Doesn't Wii Backup Manager automatically download covers for you? It would be a lot easier to let it download them all for you and transfer them to your USB loaders cover folder. That would be way simpler than downloading them each one by one!

Not if you have PriiLoader blocking online updates.

I'm using an SD card and an external hard drive. I've just stuck the SD card in my PC and found where the covers are kept which is more than I knew 10 minutes ago! They are just in a folder called usb-loader/covers/xxxxx.png in that folder it just shows the front covers and then there are 3 other folders in there which contain 3d images, full images and the disc images.

It looks like the covers are saved on the SD card and wii backup manager is running from the external hard drive so I don't think it can download them automatically.

You discovered where you need to put your images so your closer.

Try to use the edit button rather than double posting. Wii Backup Manager would download them to your PC. Then you would copy them from the folder on your PC to the folder on your SD card.

Yes! I've got a feeling I'm going to be told I have the worst modded wii in history

If I download the wii covers I'm looking for and save them with the correct file names in the correct locations, will that work or does it need to be linked some other way?
