Priiloader 0.3 (R32) Netflix Streaming Update Question

My main issue is to avoid bricking my Wii when I go onto Wii Shop in order to download the new Netflix software.

See history and S/W details at the bottom of this post.

I'm looking for cookbook instructions to get access to the Wii Chopping Channel in order to download the Netflix Streaming software.

I haven't checked off the Wii Shop Channel agreement because I'm afraid they will brick my Wii if they sense any S/W they don't think is legit.

    I've see tutorials like this...

    http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...x-dummies.html

...but I don't have access to Wii Shop and I don't feel confident checking off their agreement.

    TIA...

    History:

I received a modded Wii and use USBLoaderGX and an external hard drive. I have no history modding Wiis - I'm a newb.

You won't get auto-updated. They have legal rules. If you need to update your shop channel, follow the Update Wii Shop Channel to v20 guide.

If you still don't feel confident about their agreement, keep on reading. I'm assuming that it's the EULA you're encountering. You can just got to AnyRegionChanger and change the EULA to read (make sure to plainly reply no first to the point where they ask you to agree, then use ARC to change it to read.)

Edit: and they can't detect the S/W.

BW, thanks for the reply. If I understand correctly, it is fine to agree to the Wii Shop Channel agreement and they won't brick my Wii, correct?

I take it everyone has agreed to this who uses Wii Shop Channel and nothing bad every happens.

    Thanks again.

Yes, as long as it doesn't ask you to update your Wii.

BW, it is asking for a Wii Shopping Channel update. Do I follow the instructions here...

    http://www.wiihacks.com/general-home...v20-guide.html

I think I will go with offline upgrade - whwat does...

    2. Start HBC and Load Wad Manager

...mean? I guess I don't know what HBC is.

    TIA...

    Hi All,

I'm following the offline guide here...

    http://www.wiihacks.com/general-home...v20-guide.html

    I've done the following:

    1. Loaded WAD Manager
    2. I left HBC at 1.05 when prompted to upgrade to 1.08 - should I upgrade to 1.08?
    3. I agreed to the disclaimer
    4. I selected IOS249 -> Wii SD Slot (choosing the location wasn't part of the tutorial)
    5. The available WAD files did not include IOS56-64-v5662.wad even though I copied it to the WAD directory of the SD card. Does the file transfer have to occur on a Windows box for it to show up on the Wii?

So far, no upgrade love. I'm making progress, though.

    TIA...

    netflix on wii

i have a wii netflix question/concern. i use netflix on my non modded wii and a modded 1 and i turned my parents on the netflix for the wii also non modded. my concern and question is when my father signed on for netflix and for some reason called them to help set it up the netflix person on the phone asked if they were using a modded wii ofcourse he said no but then he told me that they had said something about finding the users with modded wii's and bringing them up on charges. question is, is there a way they can tell if your using a modded wii to watch netflix? and has anyone else heard something about this?

bump - howie brings up a great point which i originally brought up... does nintendo have a way of cracking down on the modded wiis? or is it all bluster and fear mongering? ------------reprint of prior post...
