Playing Gamecube games via USB disk

    Hi there!

I just saw some old school reviews of oldies from the Gamecube and some ports (like Sonic Adventure), and it got to me what I am missing, some of them I even didn't remembered that they exist. Ok, I got some short memory, I know

The question is, can I play *.gmc files from the USB? I saw ways of burning them to a DVD and playing them in a Wii, however, I got a Wii (black) that has "that" kind of DVD drive.

Best regards, and thanks for your help

Short answer no. There is Swiss but it's not perfect (still beta) and you'll need an IDE drive with power supply and EXI-IDE adapter if you want you use a HDD.

But, a 2.5" HDD is good for the job?

I'll wait for the Swiss then! Thanks!

Not quite. Swiss is out (See the guide in my sig) and re-read my post. You need an IDE drive and special adapter that plugs into a GC memory card port. Your USB drive isn't up to the job. There will probably never be GC loading through the Wii's USB ports seeing as how they cut out when your MIOS/cMIOS take over and your Wii goes into GC mode.

This question has been asked and answer a lot of times. There's no way to load gc games through usb.

OP, your only way to play gc backups is using swiss as darkcide said.
