It won't do you any good to put them on a usb device, they won't play from there.
ok then what do i do to play them on my wii
normal way would be to burn the disc and use a backup loader.
Guys are still working on getting it to work properly.

which would allow usb backup loading but it is still under development I am not sure if anybody got that to work already.. See the thread, never looked at it myself (edit: well last pages say it isn't working, read the whole thread..).

No that won't work. It is displayed because of the whole discloading thing. The wii has to enter gamecube mode, that is done via discloading so far..until they find a properly working bypass.
But as you might know newer wiis can't play burned media, so either you have to buy an oldschool wii, wait for dios mios to be finished (if ever done, read something about: project droppped)
or buy a wode (hardmod which can load GC games from usb).
Mentioning DIOS MIOS is pointless. It doesn't work and never will. But...You are leaving out Swiss. A couple others and myself have managed to get a few games working via SD. It's still beta so it has it's fair share of problems and is by no means an absolute solution but it's possible go launch GC games from SD or HDD with a SD Gecko or IDE-EXI adapter. There is a guide in my sig.
And you can enter gamecube mode via the HBC by using WiiPowers Swiss launcher (only useful for Swiss) or Wii Gamecube Homebrew Launcher (For any other GC homebrew).
