This seems to be a bit of an ongoing debate, pros and cons of fat32 vs wbfs a lot of people say fat 32 is the way to go now because you can store other stuff as well as wii games. There are a few recent threads about it.I have two partitions one fat32 one wbfs but i put games on wbfs partition with wbfs manager 3.0 as any file size is easily transferred wheras fat32 larger files have to be split (extra hassle in my opinion) but with fat32 you can run nand emulation /game emulators etc with wbfs you cant, and YES that is a good guide

Just as an example, would Super Smash bros brawl be considered a "larger file"? How big is large? I know that Brawl is a bigger size than other isos.

Yes that is one of the larger files i think its over 6gb untrimmed. At the end of the day it will work on FAT32 and FAT32 has more uses.A lot of people i know use wbfs as it was considered the best option at the time and dont want to go through the hassle of formatting and replacing everything on the drive.

Guys guess what, My HDD WORKED! Although I did have a few problems. U formatted it to FAT32. Usb loader gx told me it doesnt support FAT formats. So I tried WiiFlow, but got WBFS Error -1. So I tried CFG, thinking third times the charm, and it worked! Thank you guys so much. Il be sure to post my results in the compatibility list, so that I can give back to this community.

Glad you got it working. Cfg is my preferred loader but just so you know Wiiflow should work if you use 2.1a2 or 2.2b. Based on your thread title I should also mention that GX will work with FAT32.....use the new 2.0 version if you are going to try it.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Thanks, but no thanks :P I already got CFG loader working, and Ill stay with it since I already downloaded covers for it and themes. No need to mess around with a good thing I added my hard drive to the compatibility list here on wii hacks. Also, when I first softmodded my wii, USB loader gx installed itself as a channel. How do I know what version it is, so that I can search for a wad to uninstall it?
