Super Mario Galaxy 2 freezes at savegame selection screen

For some reason, after installing the latest cIOS files I could find in this forum, some of the games that I have on my USB drive are having trouble loading. I use WiiFlow 2.1 and USB Loader GX 2.0 and both seem to give me the same results: I can run Super Mario Galaxy 2 up until it asks me which savestate to load (the three planets which become a mii character's head) where suddenly, though my cursor is visible, I cannot select anything, nor can I return to the wii system menu (the light on my wiimote remains on, but no buttons seem to work).

I would like to know if there's a better cIOS setup out there, or if there's something I missed/did wrong. Here's my SysCheck:

    sysCheck v2.0.1 by Double_A
    ...runs on IOS58 (rev 6176).

    System Menu 4.3U (v513)

    Found 114 titles.

I would like to know if anyone could send me a link to a guide on how to downgrade my system menu to 4.1 (I can't seem to find one through google) and if that might help solve some of my issues. Also, I am wondering if my IOS58 should be patched or not, or if it's the wrong version (as that is the IOS that Super Mario Galaxy 2 uses).

    Wow, crazy looking system report.
You updated to a higher cios and now you are having issues? was the last configuration not working for you?
Sent from my van, down by the river.

Well, PimpMyWii gave me an error and said that I didn't have the right version of IOS15 and that I should install hermes cios. This is what began the madness I suppose. Before, I was having trouble loading some burnt copies of my games. Installing hermes and updating whatever PimpMyWii told me to do did solve that problem (kinda) but at the expense of everything else breaking. I'm at a loss to what BCv6 and MIOSv4 even is, and as for everything else... well, the list just looks a bit too epic for my liking. How can I slim things down and get things working again?

Also, when I try to downgrade to System Menu 4.1 in MMM I get an ERROR ES_AddTitleStart (-1035)... once again, google gives me no results. Any words of wisdom would be highly appreciated.

No only that, but there's an actual guide for this game (consult it). Thread closed.
