Problem loading games in USB loader GX. **PLEASE HELP**

I gave my hard drive to a guy I know to load the drive with games for me. Apparently he is saying that my drive is not compatible with the wii which I dont think is right. The wii reads the drive but shows no games in usb loader gx. The hard drive is compatible with both usb 3.0 and 2.0. Does anyone know if this is true? If so is there a solution to this other than buying another hard drive? I have read that it may also be an issue with some files on my sd card. Someone please help I would really appreciate it.

I have a Western Digital My Passport Essential SE 1 TB USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 Ultra Portable External Hard Drive.
