Thumbs up Problem with USB Loader GX not loading games anymore after using PimpMyWii to update

    Hi all,

    Names Rob.

Just wanted to know if anyone could give me a hand with this. I am not new to softmodding... I have done it to my own wii and others as well. I just finished softmoding a Japanese Wii 4.3 and.

All was going well except that some games were not reloading back to the Wii menu when I wanted to exit the games. So I thought...maybe I need to update IOS so I decided to use pimpmywii (as I have used it on mine and have had no problems).

After I did all the updates and stuff automatically I tried running the games but all that happens is that it seems like it wants to load a game but the HDD just keeps flashing and so does the blue light where the DVDs go on the Wii.

So I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me today... As I have my friend coming to pick up his wii in 4 hrs and I wished now I didnt use pimpmywii.

I will post the system check i did on my IOS.

pimpmywii causes problems and does not solve them. no one on this site here uses that app.
use the softmod any wii guide, like you did before i guess to get back up and running again. stick to that setup.

    <--suggestions helped? press Thanks

yes, the guide (chapter2, wad installation) should correct the errors made, look at all the trucha bugs on the normal IOS.
    don't use pimpmywii afterwards again.
your initial issue can be encountered otherwise, i would step back from GX anyways, go for wiiflow or cfg usbloader.

Hey thanks for the quick reply once again. Yeh I do use GX on my wii and CFG usbloader all my games work on both.
on my mates I had to install CFG usbloader cuz GX stopped working.
Ok so I will do what you said and then not use pimp my wii anymore.... I think i was lucky on my wii that it didn't do anything back to it...i think because I had most IOS updated to the latest anyways. But I always have a back up nan just in case.
Although for my mates 4.3J he cant install bootmii as boot2 only IOS so its lame

But anyways thanks for the reply I will tell my mate to bring his wii and do the steps you suggested and then keep them as they are.
One more question...... I installed Hermes v4 will it over ride this or do I have to reinstall it again?!?!
ohh yeh also would you know why after i did the softmodd (before stuffing around with pimp my wii) some games like NSMB would not reload to the main Wii menu...it will just stay on a black screen. Most games to return to the wii menu but some like NSMB does not.

Sorry for all the question.... I'm really grateful for this

from the syscheck v4 is not but v5/5.1 is installed. the guide should hook you up with v4 again.
if you want to change something on your setup go to the wanin and hermes cIOS as wads thread.
no clue on the game exit thing. cfg usbloader has a config file where you can set such things (inside the usbloader folder). other option to properly set a return is inside priiloader. you would have to install a forwarder file to your loader and then can set to return there in the priiloader settings (maybe recheck the settings there if it is set to return to systemmenu right now).

Yeh I had hermes c4 installed but stupid pimp my ass wii updated it to v5 i think..... ok so It shud do it back to v4 cool.
I had preloader set up and it was set up to return to the wii menu. I read somewhere it created probs for some people and so I uninstalled it but still the same happened. I will check on CFG Usbloader and see if i can find that option. In the end my mate is not too worried ...as long as the games work its cool. In the steps it says its optinal to downgrade to 4.1.... do you think this is a good idea or just leave it as 4.3j?
