    Wiiconnect24

    Hello everyone,
I have softmodded my wii following mauifrog guide and the results are excellent.
I do have wiiconnect24 on so i was wondering if that could be a cause for bricking.
    many thanks

You can leave Wiiconnect24 on if you wish. It will not cause a brick in itself. There is a slight chance of overheating by leaving it on and that's why it isn't recommended.

Turn standby off and there is no chance it will overheat. Wiiconnect 24 isn't what keeps the console on, standby is.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Agreed... However, when Wiiconnect is turned off, doesn't that also turn off Standby? I was thinking it did but i don't remember for sure.

When you turn off WiiConnect24, Standby mode gets disabled as well.

Yup but they were asking if turning it on was OK.

Just pointing out that WC24 and standby are different things if the OP was unaware.

I believe when you turn WC24 on it enables standby so you then need to disable it.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Weather Channel and News Channel updates as well as Nintendo update prompts.

It is also used to power a USB charger in some cases.
