[RESOLVED] Sports Resort + Few others, remote some times doesn't respond

    [[RESOLVED]]

Given the information in this thread and from a little extra reading what I have determined as the cause is the hard drive type as well the cios version. It seems a few select hard drives suffer this problem with cios249 r20/21 and cios250 r20/21. Below are steps I took to solve the problem, and this a conclusion as to what I believe was the deal maker.

    -- What I did.. --
This assumes you already know how to install and handle Wads.

    1. I placed Wad Manager 1.7 within my apps folder, so it could be accessible from the homebrew channel.

    2. Replace cios249/250 revision20 with cios249/250 revision19. I used cios249 because I read some where 250 was the same if not extremely similar to 249. If you find you are unable to select a cios(200+) while using Wad Manager I read that you can use 036 or 038 to install 249 -- VERIFY THIS BEFORE ATTEMPTING.

    3. Installed Wiiflow. Make sure you download the proper Wiiflow, to which cios you installed. Since I installed 249 I downloaded r304-249.zip. I also installed a forwarder channel for ease of use sake.

    4. Download Easeus Parition Master + Install (it's free, safe, and pretty good). Read the guide on how to format your drive. I formatted it as NTFS rather than FAT32 since NTFS allows for bigger files; this is optimal for larger games and for using your hard drive with your computer as well.

    5. After you formatted the hard drive, use Wii Backup Manager to add games, view the guide for help.

    6. If all went well, plug your drive in and you should be good to go. No more controller lag.

    To sum it all up...
Installed Wiiflow, Changed cios to 249 revision19, formatted hard drive to NTFS and added files with wii backup manager.
    Hope this helps.

    [[ORIGINAL POST BELOW]]

This seemed to of only occurred after upgrading from 223 I believe. It seems to happen often on Sports Resort and every once in awhile in other games. The problem is that on occasion the buttons pressed will not 'press' or some times not release when commanded to. Batteries in the remote are fine. I saw something about this in another topic some time ago but have since been unable to relocate it.

That revision of loader does not support rev 20 cIOS!
You can either install cIOS 249 rev 17,or upgrade to
    USB Loader 2.0.

Thats called controller lag, google "controller lag rev20". Started happening with v20 with some HDDs.
Workaround is to use v19 or Hermes cIOS.

really now ... so the loader would still start games but it just wouldn't support r20? I've been using USB Loader GX for awhile, but I'm still figuring all of this stuff out. I will look into USB Loader 2.0 while I await a reply, thank you.

rev 17 is the most reliable version to run with gx938. Some others will runs it but with issues. I have not looked into the "controller lag" that was mentioned in another reply though. I have used GX for a long time with no issues on rev17. There are a few games that need other cios to run properly, those are addressed on an individual basis. For the most part rev17 is the way to go with that rev of GX. The new 2.o GX supports them all. It's worth a look!

I got USB Loader GX 2.0 installed, and the forwarder channel. However, when I use the forwarder channel the wii resets. GX loads from the homebrew channel properly.

The guide I used was: http://www.wiihacks.com/software-bac...loader-gx.html
It states: "don't forget to rename them to boot.dol" -- I renamed the USB Loader GX wad, but not the forwarder because it doesn't state where to place it. I placed the forwarder wad within the WAD folder on my SD card and installed it using Wad Manager 1.7
The forwarder channel does appear, although I would prefer it in a different location on my channel menu (if possible, second thoughts).

Note: Lag issues still exist, I will try downgrading to r19

PS: Does anyone have a download to r19 at the top of their head while I'm searching?
