    Wii games load then not....weird

Just got my system done... 4.2u, with HDD and USB Loader... I will have to check version, but at work now... THe problem is that when I got it home, it loaded up game fine... Played a bunch of games and etc... Great... Ate dinner, then tried to play a game and when clicking the game it makes a little click... ok... no game load... Tried clicking the Wii menu at the bottom right... it asks to go back to the main menu, if you cancel and try it again.... it makes same click sound and nothing. this happens with all of the items on that screen... Tried emailing the guy who did it, but figured I would check here as well...

    Edit: Seagate Freeagent GO 320GB.

    Doing sys check now...

    Edit: Sys Check as promised

    Spoiler

Another Edit: trying to go to Channels menu and then picking SD card, freezes the Wii... perhaps a bad card?
Thanx for any input you can offer

I suggest formatting your drive as FAT32 and use CFG Loader or Wiiflow. You will need Hermes 222/223 or waninkoko rev19+ for FAT32 loading.

Probably not the answer you want to hear...but there you go.

Did you leave the wii or HDD on while eating dinner?? Some HDD's Hibernate and the drive slows causing game play problems. Seagate's have a "Sleep mode" that can be turned off. Doing so will improve operation of the HDD for your purpose. It may not be the fix but its worth a shot considering you'd wanna do it anyways.. Heres the link to turn off sleep mode:

FreeAgent | Go, FreeAgent | Desk, FreeAgent | XTreme | Seagate

What SD card are you using?? I dont "think" its the card considering it was working ok.. if it read everything on the card it's most likely not the cause but maybe a possibility.. I havent really heard of sd cards going out..

Thats what I thought too, I remember the light being off, but once i rebooted the wii, it came right back on. Sounds like I just need to dive into the fat32 thing and get rid of wbfs? thats kinda what i wanted in the beginning... I want to use the HD to back up some other stuff as well, covers, etc and it would be easier if I could just plug it in. I see a lot of other KINDA similar posts regarding usb loader gx. Perhaps that is the problem.

Hard drive: Turn off sleep mode - Format to full FAT32 (which loads everything under 4gb) Or make a small NTSC Partition on it.
then: Try CFG or wiiflow. I like cfg..

Did you try turning off sleep mode first though??

also. WBFS if fine.. just load them onto the FAT32 hdd and they run fine.

I disagree with all of you. I have wiiflow and decided to switch to fat32. I used to have wbfs format and it worked great every game no problems except some freezes on wiiflow boot. BUT NOW, with fat32 format my wiiflow does the same boot freezes and a lot of games dont even work. SSBB for one, when I load the game it just quickly goes back to the start option everytime. Other games black screen dump. I thought I would give fat32 a try but it is a huge fail and I am going back to wbfs.

    what HDD are you using?

I run a Iomega 1tb HDD formatted to FULL FAT32 and running CFG. not one issue at all.. had to change IOS's in a few games but CFG had an easy option to do that. maybe you should try CFG? also CFG has a video patch option for games that freeze.

also FAT32 can have almost ANY file type on it. Running a WBFS HDD is not needed anymore..

Using WD Passport Es. SE 750GB. Works great with wbfs format. Had to change some ios for games that required it on wbfs and I have that list and keep the settings on my wiiflow. Only changed the wiiflow to operate under fat32. Wiiflow has a vid patch too but that is not the problem. The games simply wont load and SSBB didnt even want to be transferred to fat32 from wbfs. I had to reinstall the game from wiiflow onto fat32. Honestly fat32 causes alot of unwanted problems and I don't see what the great advantage to using it is.
