software Modded Wii won't update
My son's friend a while back had gotten the message do you want to update your Wii, and agreed and ever since then everything works fine other than you can no longer play off of burned ISO disks or via USB. My kids recently got the Mickey game which requires an update. I can connect to the internet fine, and I have a 24mb connection, but am still getting the default connectivity error message. So my only conclusion is that some how the original mod affected it. I am not that familiar with Moding and how each piece interacts together, but I am on 4.2U system menu, and I have Homebrew, as well as NeoGamma, and USB Loader. When I first turn my Wii on I come to a default text menu and I have to activate the we remote and select the Wii Menu. From there I can see that the menu is IOS v7.0 Priiloader v0.2. I was hoping someone might have step by step instructions to set this to a factory 4.2U load then I can upgrade and remod again or just simply leave it or if there is a way to fix it I am ok with that as well. Any thoughts would be appreciative, and I appologize if I posted this in the wrong section.
Thanks in advance
Priiloader is probably blocking updates which is GOOD! Post a system check so we can see what you have installed.
There is no need to update and then softmod. If you follow a softmod guide on this site it will overwrite what you already had with no ill effects.

So the guide you linked to seems to be the sensible choice!
