On-line help with Indiana PWNS, please!

I'm trying to softmod the 4.3U console. Got the SD card with Hackmii 0.8 copied to it.

Now I've started LEGO Indiana Jones, selected New Game, the Lost Temple started.
Since I'm modding the game for my granddaughters and I've never played any games before I'm not sure what to do next!
I clicked on "+" to start the game. What now?

    The guide says:
-Play Lego Indiana Jones Original. Start a new game, then exit to System Menu.

Can I save the game right at the beginning, without even playing? How to do it?

Waiting impatiently for your input! Thanks!!!

    ...if I only new, how!

Is that the HOME button? If I press that I'm getting "Wii Menu" and "Reset" choices.
    Could I get more details?

    Got it! Thank you ALL!

Now, the HackMii installer v0.8 started. I clicked on "Continue".
    Now I have two options:
    - Install the Homebrew Channel, and
    - Bootmii...

Should I install both? (The guide is unclear at this point).
