Backups of newer games keep freezing.

To make a long story short as far as my wii history goes I softmodded my wii a few months prior to MHTri comming out and then I stupidly updated to 4.2 to play online when i purchased the game (which i ended up not using very much).

Then recently I decided to re soft mod my wii and followed a number of guide to hoping that my current problem would be solved.

No matter what format i use be it dvd or usb I cant get my new backups to load properly. For example super mario galaxy 2 the original work perfectly fine however when it comes to a backup (I have used my disk and a number of others to test) it freezes either at the menu or about 10-20 second after that. Same thing happens to kirby's epic yarn it freezes when loading the game, at the start with the story intro and sometimes before that.

The most annoying thing which is really bugging me is the fact that my old backups work perfectly fine on disk and usb so I cant see where the problem lies unless it really is down to specific titles. One thing I have noticed is the backups im currently trying to load are nintendo made as opposed to my old ones such as Murumasa and Madworld.

I did search and found a similar topic to mine but there was no fix in that thread unfortunatly. Did I screw my wii up by updating over an old softmod or is there still hope in playing backups on my system?

Thanks for the reply. I checked your guide but It doesnt seem to cover the problem I have unfortunately.

I cant really explain the problem very well but there has been other incidents which have caused crashes too including copying a disk through the wii menu to a HDD. I would get about 2.5% through the installation process and it would randomly freeze.

I have also had this happen when trying to install certain wads. I use Verbatim DVD-R and burn at 4x and I also have a 320 GB seagate drive which I have managed to start games on.

The only thing I can think of it that I have ruined the installation of my softmod and there is conflicting files.

Ok I would like to appologise. I just tried the new donkey kong and it seems that playing a backed up version of that works perfectly fine. It does seem that the two games I have been focusing all my effort on trying to fix are just problem games. I will go and relook at your guide for mario galaxy but Im not sure what kirbys problem is yet.

Thats for the post again and hopefully this thread will help anyone who has the same "problem" I had.

    EDIT:

Ok After reading over the guide and seeing that Mario galaxy 2 should work pretty much on any disk or HDD that is capable of loading games with no problems then I am back the square one apparently unable to find the cause of my backups freezing.
