    4.3U Wii Downgrading Advice

Thanks to anyone who can assist me of advice but I have a friend who used to have 4.2U firmware on his Wii. Then he accidentally updated to 4.3U after the new update was released and now I will downgrade his Wii for him.
The main question I wanna ask here is I have noticed in the SoftMod 4.3 guide that Downgrading is optional if you want 4.1 Firmware. Would it be safe if I downgrade my cousins Wii from 4.3 to 4.1 following the Softmod Guide here on Wii hacks then update to 4.2? Thanks >

So long as you follow the instructions in the guide you'll be fine -- that's why the instructions are in the guide to begin with.

But why on Earth would you update him to 4.2? Did he do harm to you in some way that you feel the need for retribution?

I will explain right now even though its not a long story

My current Wii right now is 4.2U and I have it softmoded for about 9 months already. Anyways I have softmoded it about 3 times because I messed up with certain things every here and there but anyways the point being is that with 4.2U im very adjusted and familar with the programs and step by step process in softmoding it. Others If im correct take different methods and I really don't feel like taking the time to learn how to softmod a 4.1 or other firmwares for the Wii.

With that said I was planning to follow the guide I have read here On the forums for 4.3 Wii users and downgrade to 4.1. Only question I had is if it is Safe to upgrade afterwards from 4.1 to 4.2 then follow my custom Softmoding guide from there for 4.2. I ask this question because I havent seen anybody do it or ask the same Question I ask currently.

There is no good reason to update to 4.2. Either stay on 4.3 and dont downgrade or go to 4.1 which performs EXACTLY AS 4.2!

LOL ok there isn't much of a good reason but What if, I wanted to, lets say. Becasuse we all have our favorites and dislikes for things. Would it work out and I would be safe/Ok if I follow steps correctly when Downgrading from 4.3 to 4.1 and upgrading to 4.2 using waninkokos Update or something like that I heard before? Not Nintendo's Update but another correct softmod update. Because If it really is "4.1 which performs EXACTLY AS 4.2! " it shouldn't be a problem upgrading to 4.2 am I correct? Its afterall "EXACTLY" the same :P

If you are claiming this statement then you probably have not read the 4.3 guide thoroughly enough to attempt it, regardless of what you plan to do after. Do some more reading, and do your friend a favor by not attempting the mod until you have.

Updating to 4.2 after downgrading from 4.3 to 4.1 is pointless, and if you had any idea the lengths we go to to warn people not to update past 4.1 here you would better understand why no one has assisted in this matter.

Just downgrade to 4.1 and be done with it. None of the games or apps rely on the system menu, except priiloader.
