Force Wii to Enter complete shutdown (red power light) even with standby mode on.

If a hack exists where you can force your Wii to enter complete shutdown mode (red light) even when standby is on, it would be great if anyone could show me it! I really want to be able to use the Forecast and News Channels but I definitely don't want Standby Mode on because I don't like how warm my Wii gets (and I also don't want to buy an ugly cooling stand). I know that you can have Standby Mode on and hold down the Wii's power button manually to make it turn red, but it's really inconvenient having to walk up to the Wii and hold it's power button down every single time. I would think by now that a hack like this would exist... it doesn't really seem too complicated.

It would also be fine if there was a hack where standby is off, but we can trick the News and Forecast Channels to think it is on.

Any sort of hacks like these would be wonderful!

    Thanks!

Let me know if you discover that, I'd certainly use it lol. Why don't you DISABLE standby/WiiConnect24 and manually enable it if you want to use those channels? That's what I do...

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but I use PowerMiiOff.zip for hard shutdowns. I started using it when I set up my USB drive, because in standby my drive would just keep running. You can leave Connect24 on, although the channels obviously won't update when you aren't in standby mode. The connection is the reason the Wii gets hot.

I have the Standby Mode disabled, and WiiConnect24 enabled. Simple enough. You click on the POWER button once, and you see a red light.
I usually stop Wii'ing when I go to bed, so a simple click on the button on my wall-increasing-thing (what's it called in English? ), and it's completely shutdown.
