Ah I see. Sounds like it could be a bit of hassle. I only really want to play one gamecube game: Wind Waker. The rest are actual wii games I want.

    thanks.

So I got the wii and the vesrsion number is 3.4E so I'm guessing thats a good thing, and the serial number is: LAH103951834

Is there a way I can find out if my particular one can play DVD backups?

    cheers

    Woo hoo! Man, what luck.

Now I just have to actually mod it without stuffing it up. Should I follow the Softmode ANY wii link in your sig, JoostinOnline?

Waiting on a HD cable for it now. I have a copy of Twilight Princess that I thought didn't work, but it did. Had a quick play and geez, the graphics were awful lol.

Go ahead and follow the Softmod ANY Wii guide. The reason Twilight Princess looks bad (at least by today's standards) is because the graphics are GC ones. All they did was add motion control to the GC version and mirror the game (so if a tree is on the left in the GC version, it is on the right in the Wii version).

The component cables can make a big difference, but only sometimes. I never notice it much on games that aren't made by Nintendo, except for a few like MH3. It is most obvious in still objects like text.

Yeah, I can't help but obsess about graphics, as aI study game art. Still it's Zelda, I'm sure it'll be awesome.

Do I actually have to use the Twilight Hack for my version? Or can I use the Banner bomb one?

Bannerbomb v1 will work for 3.4.

Btw, next to Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess is my favorite Zelda game.

Yeah, Ocarina of Time is my favorite too. Incredible art direction, characters, story, etc. Majora's Mask was just as good in my opinion. This Twilight Princess has a lot to live up to.

I've been dying to play Twilight Princess and Wind Waker for years now.

Okay, gonna start with the Bannerbomb V1. I'll report back if I have any problems. Thanks.

Okay, I put the files on the SD card. The wii doesn't even see the boot.dol file. Is this normal?

Just follow the directions in the guide. If you have questions, ask them there.
